After two years I am finally getting around to installing my Elk M1G.
I have a question about the M1G's RS232 capabilities. I purchased a couple Elk M1XSP units to use for serial interfaces. I know that I can used these devices to send serial commands to lighting controller etc from the M1G...
My wiring skills are much better than my drawing skills. You are correct, I did wire it correctly, just screwed up the schematic.
The correct model of the xfrm is 2440.
I corrected the schematic in the previous post.
Thanks again.
I just made up this "schematic" and its my first so there are going to be some adjustments.
After looking at my calculations, I did inlcude the exterior relays in the p212s circuit.
Thanks again for all the help.
Thanks.
The AL624 looks like it will work. Do you have a recommendation for where to purchase Altronix products online?
Now that I am thinking about this, are irrigation valves AC or DC because I was planning on running my irrigiation system directly off the TRG-2440s which I assume are AC...
Wayne,
Just when I thought I had this figured out.
I was planning on running the relays directly off the TRG-1640 and didnt know about the AC/DC issue. I am using the p212s to manage the power along the bus not to the subpanels. I have a number of cards and keypads on the bus that based on...
I am using an Elk TRG-1640 which is 0.43 amps. When I sized it I used 35ma per relay (Elk spec sheet) with only 11 on at any one time. Six of the 16 relays are for the sprinkler which will only have 1 relay on at any one time. The ten relays associated with the lighting will sometimes be all...
Its only a couple weeks old and it is stainless steel.
The fire duct tape was on sale.
Between audio, lighting and sprinklers I have/will run about 5,000 feet of wire outside the house. Voltage drop is a big issue.
I hadnt logged in for a while and was surprised to see the activity on this thread.
Work2Play did a great job of explaining why I did what I did and was a contributor to the original thread when I first started planning the system.
The location of my 3 sub-panels was driven primarily by the...
Due to the layout of our house and size of the yard, I had to locate the relays outside. I didnt want to run the bus ouside so I kept the bus indoors and built three sub panels with relays and placed them around the perimeter of the house.
This was a bit more expensive but in the end I think I...
I have all my Elk components and just finished wiring my first sub panel with my exterior relays. I'm not sure if the way I wired it is going to work but it made perfect sense to me. Here is what I have.
I have my M1RB relays controlling/triggering 912 relays with a dedicated and controlled...
Thanks for the response.
None of the previous posts were definitive in their description of how custom a screen could be. Nor did they mention that any task defined in the M1 would automatically appear on the screens. This was all very helpful.
I appreciate everyones responses.
Thanks again.
Not to appear thick but can someone answer the following questions in regard to the TS071 and Ipad with Ekeypad.
Can I create a custom (completely designed by me) screen (on either pad) that has several buttons that when engaged, initate an action on M1 (opening and closing a series of relays)...
