I tend to wonder which thermostats that ASCII function applies to, as the serial expander supports several. For the record I am using RCS TR60's and it does not appear to have any effect.
You've got 1900 boxes which are 4" square and 4 11/16 boxes which are 5" square, if you use deep side bracket versions of those then install a 1 gang mud ring you would end up with a 1 gang opening with a whole lot of room inside for wires. They also do make plastic boxes with one gang open and...
I have automated several garage doors. I always use the RF remote that comes with the opener (or just order an extra). Take it apart and solder wires onto the contact pads. You don't even have to get a wire to the opener or a button/console and even with a 3 bay garage you can usually do all...
The spec on the doorbell module is 10-16 VAC. Most doorbells operate from a hard-wired 16 VAC transformer. But the thing to remember with the ELK930 is that it needs almost an amp of current (900 mA) to trigger it, so only mechanical chimes will work.
I used a cheep Nutone chime and took...
Yes, I emailed him a couple times with some suggestions and comments (one specificaly about getting temp probe data) but never got any kind of reply.
Just FYI it was the same deal with myKeypad, emails and no response, also no updates in a long time.
It's the one of the only things I miss...
Good to know on the GE. I know the Kiddie / Firex aux relay definitely does not work off the 9 volt trigger line, the interconnected smokes will sound, but the relay will not activate.
One of the problems with doing this is the relay requires 120 volts to function, so even though the detectors have battery backup, it will not trigger the relay (and activate the panel) in and ac-loss situation... Imagine if the fire has already knocked the AC to the detectors out, while rare it...
So I've got an ELK M1 with the M1XRF2H wireless receiver and several 5800 series wireless devices.
I am using a 5800RP wireless repeater for wireless zones in my garage. When I installed the 5800RP, I setup a zone for supervision in the M1 (for low batt, RF jam and other errors) as per...
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to try hardwired Ethernet.
This is still driving me crazy, as soon as a wireless device changes state it kicks me off.
