would something like Tailscale fill the need? it appears it could also be blocked by the great firewall, but tailscale is not a textbook definition of a VPN.

I am using this version from here as it was newer than what I got on CD. No issues.

The Omni plug-in tied to Homeseer is an excellent combo. Rob Mason did an excellent job.

I would have thought the reload/re-sync of the account under SnapLink would have removed it. If you create a second account in SnapLink to the controller does it pull in the thermostat?

Angle brackets arrived from China. Quite pleased with them. When I ran all the wires in the house, I choose to put a LV bracket in each location for motion/temps, etc.. Not sure it was worth it, but I do think they look fairly clean.

browsing through the Setup and Automation rules in the config you imported should give a good idea on how the system was being used. If you have gotten this far, I would guess with help from this forum, you can get it back up and going properly as long as hardware is all good.
