@rockinarmadillo
I never came back but the PCS OCM worked like a charm. Wired up a low voltage wire to the Viking gate controller and programmed one of his buttons on his 6 scene Leviton scene controller and relabeled it. Now if he presses it the gate opens and holds open and led stays on. If he...
If all your stuff is imported via omnilinkbridge then it should just show up in overview tab like below. This is after a fresh omnilinkbridge import.
If you have an iPhone, highly recommend using the Homekit bridge integration. There are lots of easy youtubes on this. Then all these switches...
@Tigers
I was specifically thinking about his Jandy RS232 pool controller when it comes to the "buttons" (as they are written in PCAccess) not updating status. The buttons send out commands only and don't report back the pools current status. Thus in HA it just flicks the switch (button) on then...
@tigers
I spoke too soon. All "buttons" as PCAccess calls them (which I called macros above) imported as switches in HA just like yours. Sorry about that mistake. I noticed they operate just like you mention with no actual reporting. Which actually makes sense with how the OP2 has the buttons...
Thanks @Pete_C
For sure I've got 10+ hours into reading and setting this up and trying to guess and check. This forumn and you guys have been invaluable.
I had a whiz of a friend from overseas set this up in record time after I showed him what I knew. He is a master at HA for sure. If anyone...
@pete_c
A little confused. You said
Then you said
I'd love to run Hassio, but I thought I needed docker to run omnilinkbridge. I've re-read your two posts and I'm a little confused.
Are you saying to follow the official imaging tutorial here and then just add omnilinkbridge via the store...
That makes more sense based on what you were writing this morning.
I tried to install Hassio in docker based on your post here
I believe it didn't work for my Rpi 4 b due to chipset or something... I dunno. I think I read you were using a core2duo mac mini if memory serves. Maybe that is my...
@grantlewis
Definitely seeing it, but there is no supervisor/add on store, etc (within configuration or developer tools) to my understanding with HA Core install as mentioned in this supported tutorial.
I think supervisor is only packaged into a HASSIO install, no?
Totally happy to start over...
@grantlewis
First of all appreciate the "hang in there." I'm suprised how use to HassIO I became and why anyone would use something else. The qty of CLI and non-native to get HA core going was a beast. Now to answer your questions
Yes
None of this works as I don't have supervisor and why I'm...
I got the 32bit raspbian or whatever they currently call it installed.
I got docker installed on that.
Then portainer
I think I got Mosquitto installed
I got HA core on and logged in, but now this is something I have never seen before. No access to configuration.yaml???
Can someone help me here...
Hi Pete_c, tigers and grantlewis
I'm trying to follow grantlewis post suggestion here here by running JuanMTech's tutorial BUT I tried to do it on a Raspi 4 B 4gb with Raspi imager of Ubuntu Server 20.10 x64 flashed to SD.
I'm guessing it just won't work. I get to the point of installing docker...
Yes, I suppose you are correct Ano. After digging in for another couple hours I realized UPB link # (PCA) and Scene # (upstart) are directly correlated and UNIT # (PCA) and Device # (upstart) are as well. I was getting it all mixed up that was causing quite a bit of confusion. Also the original...
I was just tinkering and trying to setup some pool automations(button macros) and it just seems omni is clunky for controlling lights and scenes. I'll probably just go around and interface direct to a PIM connected via ethernet.
Thoughts?
Hey Cocooner's
Upon troubleshooting a bunch of UPB problems my dad had on his new house I have really got a crash course on UPB lighting, PC Access and Upstart.
Thanks to all on this forum for help I have got my dad's UPB in very stable condition and all physical buttons work great!
My next...
