Do have a link to any of the listings? I've been looking and can't find one.

    M1EXP

I did switch to a nonsecure port. I now have everything disconnected from the M1EXP. You're right that the unit is difficult to find. I'm going to order a new PS and hope for the best.

    M1EXP

I’ve been monitoring the M1EXP for the last 3 weeks and it has been working ok until a couple days ago when it stopped communicating with HA and the ISY. Now the device has the blinking orange power light. I checked the power supply and I’m getting 12VDC. I’m thinking at this point the unit...

    M1EXP

Hmmm that's good to know that I can setup HA on the non secure port. I let HA auto discover Elk and perhaps I can use the manual settings to force it to use the non secure port. It seems when I have the HA elk integration running, I see problems. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/elkm1/

    simple speed test of lan

DD-WRT in recent years hasn't been that impressive and haven't seen a reason to use it. Plus DD-WRT firmware updates are like 6x the size of OpenWRT firmware. Switch to PFSense, grab an L2 switch, and a decent AP and call it a day.

    M1EXP

Actually, the PS seems ok. The light remains solid. I got it working last night. One of the problems I think I'm having is I use both Home Assistant and an ISY with both using ELK interfaces. I know the ISY connects to the ELK via port 2101 (non secure) and I think Home Assistant uses 2601...

    M1EXP

Good afternoon, I’ve been having issues with my m1exp unit. I’ve owned the unit since 2011 and up until the last couple weeks the unit has been randomly disconnecting. I usually power cycle it and it comes back online, but as of late last night it is not ping able. I use my router to issue the...

    Elk m1xsp and Raspberry pi

I did see that lanbrown, thank you. I was wondering if the M1XSP could physically connect to the Pi effectively. I bought the M1EZ8MSI and that works fine for serial connections from my laptop, but I haven't tried it for the Pi yet. I suspect the M1EZ8MSI is what I needed all along. I had an...

    Elk m1xsp and Raspberry pi

I recently picked up an Elk M1EZ8 and an Elk m1xsp for a small studio shed in my backyard. My question is there anyway to interface the m1xsp with the raspberry pi? I want to run Homeseer of the pi, thanks!

Wired Recessed Door Sensors - How To Install

I did my home with a 3/8 flex bit. What I did was use a small 3/8 spade bit to make a starter hole and then use my flex bit to finish all the way. One I would use (assuming you are drilling up into your attic) is to measure the tip of the drill bit touching the ceiling to the base of the drill...

Whole Home Video Distribution - HELP!

I agree with drvnbysound there are plenty of ways to achieve this setup. For HDMI I use BlueRigger cables from Amazon and I got 2 50 foot drops 1 feeding an Amazon Fire TV and another feeding a Ceton Echo with zero loss. I'm sure you could also get a Harmony remote and use RF or get IR extenders...

fix severed outdoor Time Warner cable coax line?

Just call the cable company to replace the drop. The last thing you want is to replace the connector and bury it and then the fitting becomes oxidized. Your MSO shouldn't charge you for a drop since that is their property.
