    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Thanks! I was hoping I would be able to power the sound detector using the same batteries as the sensor. These will be located in some out of the way locals in our facility and the sensor has the ability to alert when battery is running low. I am afraid with separate batteries for the sound...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Good news is that the Monnitt software has a feature to only send the alert once , so not sure we need to handle that through the relay. With that said, do you think the Arduino relay is the best option? What should I look for in a relay? What is a "trim pot"? The sensor is powered by 2 AA...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Sound is great, if it will work better. Will it work directly with the dry contact sensor or will I need a relay?

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

So the Elk is just to account for how rapidly the strobe flashes? Would it prevent the system from sending alert after alert after alert as the strobe cycles? Would it be worth trying it without the Elk first, to see if it works more simply? Does it really need 12volt battery, your solution...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Thanks for all the help, lots of options!! In my mind, the light seems to make more sense. I am not sure I fully understand the sound detector. For that to work, it would need to be able to distinguish between an alarm sounding close to it and an alarm sounding on another floor... Cant figure...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

BraveSirRobbin- that diagram is excellent. Exactly what I needed. Would you suggest I use the dry contact sensor or the analog voltage sensor?

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Just another thought, would it make more sense to try and detect the alarm sound, or eve the vibrations of the alarm speaker? Would either be easier than light?

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Ok folks, first of all any thanks for the interest in the topic. Second, I agree that this is a bit of an unorthodox project, and maybe it won't work or help solve the problem, but I would really love the help of the group to at least give it a shot. So, a few specific questions... 1) do you...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

We are a relatively small tenant in a very large building. Our space includes a six floor open atrium area. Due to the size of the building we utilized a zoned evacuation approach wherein only three floors are evacuated at a time. The problem we have is that because of the open atrium when...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

Wow, there's lots of great info here. I am open to any feasible solutions, doesn't have to be Monnitt. I am partial to using Wifi because we already have the network in place. What we are looking to do is detect the strobe light associated with a fire alarm. The strobe is obviously much...

    Wi-Fi Light Sensor

I am in need of a Wi-Fi light sensor. Our facility is quite large and we have an existing Wi-Fi network in place, so Wi-Fi sensors make the most sense. There are not many such sensors commercially available and those that I have been able to find simply sense any presence of light... I need to...
