Of all the keywords I used. "1/4 in security magnet" is the one that found it.

The testing went great. I found out that eol resistors were not installed, but thats ok. At least my questions got answered and any body searching these keywords in the future will be able to get a good grasp on this as well.
I need to get a few of these replacement magnets. They fit snug and perfect in the window seal as shown in the pictures in the link to my flickr gallery below.
I've called 3 companies and more on the burner, hopefully I can find some of these. There are no model numbers on the sensor or the...
Thanks for the reply mustang,
JP3 on the control is shorted.
JP2 on the keypad has two gold solder spots but no short pins sticking up in order to short the connection.
However, J2, located on the lower back portion of the keypad, has two pins that ate enclosed on a white connector, similar...
So I am running into install errors that lots of others before me have seen and posted about. But everyone just says they've tinkered and fixed instead of the exact solution :(
So, I am trying to enroll the m1xep by the keypad. Elk button->option 9-> bus module enrollment
I get the error KP...
Thanks for all the replies! Testing with resistance to find the eol is a great idea. And knowing the voltage with a resistor is good to. I ordered plenty of m1xin for zones. I agree that every zone should be isolated.
We'll see how many of these sensors are working in a few minutes.
Thanks for clearing things up.
I'll have to fire the system up with a couple rooms to check to see how the pros wired things. The pros installed the contacts, I talked with the previous owner about that. I bought the house incomplete, but he is not sure about the resistors. Unfortunately he...
First off I googled 22/4 to make sure I was using the same stuff and google said 5.5, lol.
Thanks for the reply video.
The house was wired by a professional installer and now I'm trying to make sense of things. Taking a look at the wiring, the windows are wired in series. Some rooms also have...
I am ready to wire all my sensors to my elk m1 panel. I read the manual, twice, as suggested in some other posts. But I can't quite grasp a few things. I've found some related topics in the forums but everyone seems to breeze by my specific questions
1. Some rooms have multiple window and door...
As far as code goes, everything is legit. The smoke alarms are setup in every room. After talking with an inspector I found out that as long as the smoke alarms are up to code I am free to setup smoke detectors as I please.
Thanks for the products advice Lou, those are very well priced for the...
Thanks for the reply Paul.
I read the forums I could find and I realized that I found much better results with the keyword 'smokes'. This is a new slang term for me.
Anywayz, I got more confused over those discussions, but I know why! I thought that smoke 'detectors', and smoke 'alarms' were...
Thanks for the input Lou Apo,
It seems that I might be able to get away with it, but the code says specifically AC powered smokes. I talked to the electrician to see what could be done. He said the wires are already ran into the breaker as well.
What you said about the bedrooms and levels is...
