On my application, I turn the handle and open the door. I also have a key in the handle so I can use the key if the strike has no power. With no power it acts just like it would if there was no special strike in place.
I'm not "being difFicult" I was trying to give a different option (like I said). I was just passing through the information from my Central Station. They charge additionally for daily test monitoring and open/close reports. They don't have the Internet options Nextalarm does. And they are 3...
Mine is monitored by a UL Central Station which use DSC Surgaurd receivers (they charge $1/month extra to monitor ITI or Ademco). When they are notified, they start through the call list (not Internet). Additional features are availble (daily test, open/close) for additional fees - not sure if...
I can set-up monitoring through my company for $12/month paid quarterly. My service is out of Colorado but that shouldn't matter if you're in the US. As I get more customers I will eventually get a price break so I'm currently trying to get people monitoring under my company so I can get to the...
I don't like the disclaimer. I agree that they can't gaurentee it will be functional if it WAS damaged before it was sent in. BUT for those customers that want to use their existing systems when the contract is over with their previous installer and you KNOW the unit is working, with that...
Are you talking about something like this? All I could find was web cams and they were pretty close to this $200 price (for the WiFi units). I have never run across Swann anything in my area but I may not be looking in the same places. I hope someone with some experience chimes in and is able to...
What Axis "low end" cameras do you have? They are pretty good stuff in the network world. I'm not familiar with their low-end line.
There have been some comments on here about Swann products but I'm not familiar with Swann at all. Have you tried getting everything up and running with nothing...
Digger - just that cheap cameras are a sore spot with me. I've been out bid by people selling cr@p too many times. Cheap cameras give the CCTV business a bad rap and underscore the quality that is really out there!
jeffx - $100 for 6 "high quality cameras"? Sounds like a good buy. I sell my...
I like the integration to the automation like mentioned above. My answer to the original question would be "why not". I would rather have more coverage than not enough. Especially if you need metal bars on the window. It's pretty much a no-brainer.
