z-wave range and unreliable links to locks

Thanks everyone! I realized when I first did it yesterday, the VRC0P was not in its final location (at the panel) when I included it in the network. (Does that matter?)   So I tried to reprogram all the nodes this morning--with the VRC0P now at the panel. Repeated the same steps with the VRC0P...

zwave setup: alternatives to VRUSB-1US USB installer tool?

You posted it just in time!   Thanks for all the input. I have my initial setup done using VRUSB + RFI, but now it has stopped working. Not sure what's going on. It's indeed quite a frustrating and awful tool, so maybe I'll try using smartthings.

z-wave range and unreliable links to locks

Hi all,   So I finally got my Z-wave locks (all schlage BE469) set up with my OPII, using VRC0P as the secondary and VRUSB as a primary. However, the links seem really unstable. They have worked, but only once in a while. I don't know if this a range issue, or a setup issue.   Here's a brief...

zwave setup: alternatives to VRUSB-1US USB installer tool?

Hi all,   I have an HAI OmniProII system, and a bunch of Z-Wave door locks that I'd like to set up with my OPII.   I know I'll need: -Leviton VRC0P-1LW Vizia RF+ plug-in serial interface module. -Leviton VRUSB-1US Vizia RF+ USB installer tool.   My question is, do I HAVE to use the VRUSB-1US USB...

    HAI OmnitouchPro won't start

OMG that worked! Thank you so much!   Yes, I think some of the info I put in during initial setup was wrong. So I started the program from the command prompt with /setup and I got the dialog box up again to redo the setup. Works great now! Thanks!!

    HAI OmnitouchPro won't start

I recently purchased a copy of OmniTouchPro software (HAI 1131) so I can get a GUI on my computer. After installing it, it started for the first time. On the setup page, I entered some information about the IP address/port of the controller, etc. (some of which I might have gotten wrong).  ...

HAI Automation Studio GUI for Windows 8?

Ah I see... I guess it's HAI 1131... http://www.asihome.com/ASIshop/product_info.php?products_id=4922   Can anyone verify that it works on Windows 8.1? The specs say that it only supports up to Win7. And this post doesn't list HAI 1131 as being tested...

HAI Automation Studio GUI for Windows 8?

Thanks, Desert.    How do I get the OmniTouch Pro executable?

HAI Automation Studio GUI for Windows 8?

Hopefully, this is quick question... I just wanted to make sure that the HAI Automation Studio (HAI 1126) works for what I want to do, before spending a few hundred bucks buying it.   I wanted to make a GUI to control my HAI OPII. I want to run this on a touchscreen PC (specifically, a Microsoft...

TTS with OP II and Hi-Fi2

Would someone please give me a quick, "for-dummies" overview of how to add TTS with an OPII and a Hi-Fi2 setup? I've been browsing for days, and it appears that this is possible, but I can't seem to figure out how. Do I need any external software for this?   I think what I'd like to do is pretty...

    UPB Upstart stops finding PIM

Thank you so much everyone, for the suggestions. I found a old laptop which is old enough to have a serial port, and I'll give it a try once I reinstall the OS on it. I'll post back about what I find. I am using HAI dimmer switches, so I have been able to reconfigure them through PC Access...

    UPB Upstart stops finding PIM

No, I didn't unplug after resetting it, though I just tried that too (and it still didn't work)... =| Yeah, this is weird... I'm wondering if it has anything to do with using a USB-to-serial adapter? And I can't think of anything else I have that uses a DB9 serial port so that I can test it...

    UPB Upstart stops finding PIM

Hm. Re-reading the instructions is leaving me even more confused. It says that: -the PIM's factory default is Message mode. -the OP2 controller talks to the PIM using Message mode. -Upstart talks to the PIM using Pulse mode. So, how did the PIM talk to Upstart when I first unpacked it? Now...

    UPB Upstart stops finding PIM

First of all, Happy New Year, everyone! Over the holidays, I started putting together my OmniPro, and I finally got my UPB PIM all hooked up. Today, I plugged in the PIM (36A00), through the UPB-PIM cable (36A05), and was very excited that everything seemed to work. I fired up Upstart; it found...

    pc access "security stamp"

Thank you, Fred. The problem was that some versions of PC Access 3 are in fact incompatible with a 64-bit OS. This was actually documented in the knowledge base, Article #1000: http://kb.homeauto.com/default.asp?id=1000&SID=&Lang=1 Of course, the problem is that without the serial number...
