Premise Remote Desktop or VNC and the AB

I'm curious is anyone has tried this:

1. Enable remote desktop on the server running SYS.

2. Open the internet explorer on the SYS server in kiosk mode to the automation browser (AB) page.

3. Use windows mobile 6 that includes remote desktop on a PocketPC to connect to the server that has AB page open in kiosk mode.

OR

Instead of using remote desktop, use tight/real/ultra VNC with some linux client to access the AB (assuming you install a VNC server on the SYS server).

If you've tried it, how well does it work?

I don't use Premise, but I would imagine this would work fine. I do the same thing to access my HouseBot screens (called a 'swremote') on my iPod Touches and iPhones. It works great, esp if you use the multi-rdp 'patch' that allows multiple terminal server connections on XP Pro. See my post on the HouseBot forums for more info and instructions.

I did do something similar - I'll replicate tomorrow when I get home. If I recall, worked okay, but the browser vs the smartphone made maneuvering challenging....
