Low Voltage underground conduit separation from 120V

A reminder.   The OP mentions using  a 12/2 with ground wire in underground conduit. IIRC, that would violate the NEC if the 12/2  is type NM (Romex) and not UF cable. Underground conduit is considered to be a wet location by the NEC and all wire in it , ethernet cable included, needs to be...

Best current monitoring for ELK system?

Check out Alarm Relay. I've had them for a number of years now and am completely satisfied.

    ISY994 and Elk M1

Try a PLM restore. Also, how old is the PLM. There is a know issue with some of the older ones that can cause odd behavior.

    M1 Voice Quality

Do all speakers sound muddy or just a few? How is the sound with just one speaker connected? How are the speakers wired?  series, parallel? IIRC, the Elk output needs to see about 8 ohms.

    Elk - Arduino integration

I'm wanting to have an Arduino output control a zone on my Elk M1. The Arduino doesn't have access to the Elk main board, only to an input expander board in a out building. I could have the Arduino control a relay and have the Elk zone connected to the relay contacts, but there must be a more...

    Lighting Interface Options

I agree with xlirkr above. The ISY integrates very well with the Elk to control Insteon devices. An Elk/ISY system would satisfy all five of your requirements.

HAI is gone, time to try ELK

I have found that my Elk + ISY installation is extremely flexible.  The Elk programming definitely leaves something to be desired. It's old and limited, but the ISY more than makes up for that. In some instances, I have the ISY read Elk sensors and adjust Elk outputs, but all the programming is...
