You could go instead with a normal switch in that housing, but stick an Insteon Micro Dimmer in the same box.  Using its sense wire you could make it act like a reasonable normal switch.   http://www.insteon.com/dimmer-micro-module

These are the ones I got:   http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6601430547.html   Look great in outside coach lights.  Really look like incandescent.  Dim perfectly.  Light is very warm, I'd say a good bit warmer than the Cree warm I'm used to.     Looks like they have them in cooler version though.
