    omnistat replacement

I am pretty sure it was. I did play with this function today for first time, to see if it works. I mainly need the remote function to turn heat on before coming back from vacation, so trying vacation mode now for one day.. I dont know if it has to do with the modem as I need to enable DMZ. My...

    omnistat replacement

My snaplink does not change the settings on the omnistat. It looks like it does on the app, but it does not. Anything I can do? I am happy to get a new different thermostat, such as google nest. But so many wires as opposed to google nest (use only 4), so not sure which to use.

Pete, this is high level for me. I google the words you are using, such as hairpinning. Do I need to change something with the modem for the hairpinnig? Do I still need to be able to port forward at end?

That's really interesting. I recall that for a while I had to turn off my wifi in order to connect the snap link app from home. It was not always like that. Xfinity has the same modem and the setting is the same. They write visit website, where its written that everything need to be done via...

Thank you all for your help. I am enjoying the conversation and learning. The reason for me to connect the system is to be able to use the snap link app on my iPhone so I can controls lights, alarm etc from home or remotely. Currently I received an error on the app, 'unable to connect'. The...

It's a modem router combo. The internet provider says that orange means not connected. However, I was checking with them again, they see that the alarm panel is connect, but shows offline

Yes, that the MAC (mine was hidden because there is an expander attached to it). It is indeed 00-07-A6-00-7c-d6. I didn't see all '0' on mac computer but see it with PC attached. When I do arp-a, I get the same address with PC connected to the modem. However, the PC has green light on the modem...

I intend to use this modem as this is a good combo provided by the internet provider, and the separate router was not helpful. I am far from snap link. Can't forward a port. How do you interpret the ping? I tried to add device with reserved ip, added the above address. Needed to add MAC address...

Thanks Ano. yes, I have set the ip address as you suggested, which is within the range of my router, but can't open the port. I have used dynamic DNS previously, but since my ip change only a few times a year, that a minor issue now. First I need to figure out why I can open port, i.e. HAI with...

Interestingly, when...

Thank you for responding. I assigned an IP is 99.243.70.100, which is close to the public ip. I also tried to assign 192.168 type ip, similar to the other devices on the network. I am not a computer guy, so dont understand well the different terms. However, support individuals from the internet...
