Something is telling me to be very careful about extra spaces at the end of the line where you specify the serial port.  Did you also set the java parameter to the same value?  Some flaw in the library I believe which it needs to be set in both places.   I would not uncomment those tcpip fields...

Hi,   I would like to turn on certain lights within when I come home and park in the garage.   It doesn't seem as easy as triggering when the alarm goes from away to disarmed, because I really only want to run the script when I disarm from the garage.  Not if I disarm from the two touchscreens...

something which hasn't sat well with me is i thought it was shortly after i was trying to adjust an outside photocell/low voltage transformer for my outside lights, that i started seeing this strange behaviour with my inside lights.   are those photocell/lv tranformer units known to cause noise...

  Ok, last night I unplugged the UPB(used by op2) from the wall and still had some lights turned on during the night.   I have not seen any other of the UPB schedulers in the house.     I have ordered a usb to rj11/45 cable, so hopefully i can connect my macbook air to the UPB and use Upstart.

Can rule that out. I have been up/downloading with controller. Also wrote a program which worked. Have since cleared it out.

Not sure, don't understand the system enough to be sure.  I have pc access, and automation tab is empty.  Under scenes tab, there are UPB links, but they look  rather standard....ie room on/off, and room a,b,c,d.  likewise for the HLC scenes it looks rather standard.   How would I got about...

  First, thanks for the info, much appreciated.   So if I hooked this into my router near the russound, would the OP2 automatically see the russound via it's ethernet connection?  So I wouldn't need a connection to one of the serial ports on the op2?   thanks again, craig

  I wish I had an extra ethernet cable to use, and the op2 and russounds are a floor and many feet apart.     Another thought I have was hook up a raspberry pi to the serial port on the russound.  My op2 is connected to ethernet as well.  Then maybe I could do some type of bridging to the OP...

  The only thing I have seen connected to the UPB is the op2.   Does the UPB store links between devices, or is all the connection info for devices stored within the op2?  ie, could a motion sensor be tripping it via linking?     thanks for the help, craig

  I use macbook air.  would any of the usb - rj11 connectors work for UPStart?   thanks, craig
