[Articles] Homeseer Technologies to charge for technical support

Ditto on RTM - as former wizard of Convergent I can tell you it ate our lunch ad often we discussed charging but in practicality, hard to do...plus we grew (or shrank) by feedback. Conversely 50% of our sales were overseas and VERY rarely got support calls...some obvious reasons but they did...

What resolution do you run your touch screens at?

Good one - or this one

What resolution do you run your touch screens at?

Kinda depends on the overall size of the screen. A small 3.5" would not be usable at 1024x768 but is great at QVGA or max VGA. Conversely, a 15" looks stupid primitive at VGA resolution.

    Any info Thin Clients?

And as an alternative to the box con screen scenario you could just do a single touchscreen appliance. Selfishly suggesting Borg Displays on XPe BUT only as an in-wall solution...not a kid's browsing/word processor - anyone recall that term? sounds like a mix-o-matic. Anyway, quite a bit less...

Borg Displays Protege nn-wall pc/touch screens

    - thanks for the interest guys. I'll answer both questions/comments. - there is a power birck with both units and has a nifty screw-in connector but it is expected someone remotely locate the brick in the utility area and run LV wire (16-2 or better) to the unit - thus snipping the...

Borg Displays Protege nn-wall pc/touch screens

Would prefer a new header topic - as Convergent's Companion may still survive. Anyone interested in open source on this platform, BTW? As to design specs - something I know a bit about since I co-invented the webpad with Qubit - anyone recall this entity way back when? anyway, another pioneer...

Borg Displays Protege nn-wall pc/touch screens

Specs vary depending on platform. See Product page. Again fanless, sans HDD and run deep and quiet for a long time. Even new 50,000+hr LED LCD on the Protege8 so we expect longevity as a control appliance. XPe also rocks on both. Many have tested with with various applications - like...

Is Convergent Living Out of Business?

I noticed Nobu still has a website, but also thought they were pricey. I have a list of Nuvo, etc gear if anyone is interested in ex-Convergent goodies. also would entertain anyone who is interested in Protege XPe in-wall screen pricing to replay directly to me as I wish to keep dealer pricing...
