Steve, Thanks for the tip. I'm a newbie. I downloaded "Advanced Port Scanner" and ran the IP address and sure enough, all three ports for my Elk M1XEP are closed. The only open ports are for SMTP and POP3. I suppose there isn't any software designed to open ports remotely is there?

Actually I think I figured out what happened. According to Frontier, my modem lost power yesterday briefly. My guess is that the modem went back to factory default settings and the ports are no longer open. Of course I called Frontier and they can't tell me if there are any open ports. I...
