    In-Wall touchscreen w/ computer

The way I have it set up is after 15 min the screensaver comes on and after a couple of hours of inactivity I let windows turn the monitor off. When the alarm is turned on at night or when I am away from home I use a x10 appliance module to shut the power off to the monitors. Jim

    In-Wall touchscreen w/ computer

CB the price for Elo 1537L touchscreen with Intellitouch technology was around 475. A little expensive but in my opinion well worth it. the older Planar 15 inch touchscreen with 5 wire resistance was around 125 on Ebay but it was used. The setup is very reliable just as long as I am not...

    In-Wall touchscreen w/ computer

Dan one of the cat5 cables is used to extend the serial ports for the touchscreen. You can use usb but it is limited to length. Some touchscreens come with just serial port, just usb, or both. The other cat5 is used for the video and I am using VGA Baluns to extend the vga cable, the only...

    In-Wall touchscreen w/ computer

Like David said I am using Mainlobby by Cinemar. You can use the scenes that come with the package, you can buy professional scenes that they sell or custom make your own like I did. Most of the scenes that I am using are on the "scenes" page, you just have to select each menu item like you...

    In-Wall touchscreen w/ computer

Here is my install. For my older touchscreen I used a 15" Elo that I bought from ebay. I took it apart and mounted it in the wall. For my most recent install I purchased a new Elo 1537L and also mounted it in-wall. They are connected to the pc in the basement with 2 cat5 wires and one...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

Dan thanks. The balums that I used are made by Muxlab. They dont need a powersupply. David the panel that I just installed has the ELO SAW. I have not gotten it wet yet, but I like it much better than the resistive. Being all glass it has a better feel to it, and also is a crisper picture...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

I just finished the install on the touchscreen. I ended up using the ELO 1537l panel. I used Mikew install idea on using velcro to mount the frame. Here is a couple of pics on the install. http://home.comcast.net/~mlscenes/Touch_Screen_1.htm Jim

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

I am not familiar with CQC, I use the mainlobby software and I can tell you how I did it. To the touchscreens I run 1 cat5e shielded cable for the vga with balun to extend the vag, 1 cat5 for the serial cable for the touchscreen and a 16gauge 2 wire for the 12 v for the power with the brick...

Here is another way of installing an in-wall monitor. This one is from MikeW from the charmedquark forum. He is using the monitor I am planing on buyng the elo 1537l. He uses velcro to secure the frame to the monitor. I might end up using his idea, I like the look of the thin frame that he...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

There are different ways of mounting them. I have installed planar monitors that were not open frame units. I took them apart and made a frame behind the monitors were I screwed them to. The tricky part is making a frame for it, if you dont have access to the back. You need to be able to...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

I agree I would not put the brick in the wall. I run the 12v wire down to the wiring closet and put the brick there. Steve I have seen your panel and you have done a great job on the frame and install. I agree I think I would like the intellitouch better because of the glass panel . Have...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

thanks for the suggestions. I was looking around and came up with this one http://media.elotouch.com/pdfs/datasheets/1537l_ds.pdf It is a little on the pricey side, but it looks like it has everything I was looking for. The powersupply is in a remote location and has a serial connection...

    Need advice on wall toucscreen

I have an in-wall planar 15 inch touch screen that is going bad on me. What is a good affordable touch screen that I can replace it with? I am going to take it out of the enclosure that it comes in and mount it in the existing opening. It would have to be serial connection because the monitor...

    Multiple Touchscreen with single Computer

shaurya I am using a matrox g200 that I purchased from ebay, it allows for an additional 4 monitors. As far as the extenders I am using the muxlab vga baluns. http://www.smarthome.com/7805vga.html They are working great for me with no problems at all. Jim

    IR port on Mitsubishi TV

Syous I had the same problem with my 4 year old Mitsubishi rear projection TV. If I remember correctly the small pc board you saw has the receiver. What I did was, while holding the emitter I had someone send a signal that way I found the best location to tape the emmiter to. It has been...
