    ELK M1 Intermittent False Alarm

Okay and thanks again.   I have seen violations on 3 zones. I plan on removing the sensor wires from the panel for all 3 zones and then waiting to see what happens.   Given I don't know what is triggering the false alarm, don't know for sure what time frame this will occur in, etc., I am really...

    ELK M1 Intermittent False Alarm

I had another false alarm at 8:30 PM EDT yesterday. This is the first false alarm since March 12th and there haven't been any changes to the system.   As RAL stated in a previous post, changing the CR2032 does not appear to have resolved the problem.   QUESTIONS: 1) If there is a problem with...

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

Thanks again sbwright. I have an old D-Link DIR-615 router that I was going to flash with DD-WRT but, the B2 version of the router is not supported. Now looking for a new router.   Appreciate everyone's input and suggestions.

    ELK M1 Intermittent False Alarm

Final update. After changing the CR2032 battery I have not had any false alarms in over 3 weeks. My assumption at this point is the battery being weak "May" have been the culprit. But I don't have definitive proof.   Marking this thread as resolved.

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

Thanks sbwright and sic0048 for taking the time to explain this.   I have done a search for VPN for the Bell Home Hub 3000 which is supplied by my ISP (Bell).   So far the only discussions I can see are users wanting to access a VPN server that is behind the Home Hub 3000 and in the local...

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

HUGE thanks to everyone for their suggestions / guidance!! Without everyone's input I wouldn't have understood what the resolution could be.   I believe I have finally resolved the problem!!   Because Elk RP2 doesn't use the secure port for authentication, I was not able to see that port 2601...

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

Thanks RAL.   I am trying to connect from within my home network using M1toGo and then using No-IP hostname. Looking at my router settings, and searching the support forums, my router does not support loopback   Can you suggest the best approach to confirm external connection will work?

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

I am not a knowledgeable user when it comes to networks. I think the WAN is the same as my public IP address. Correct?   I contacted my ISP which confirmed my public IP. I did as you suggested and I can see that M1toGo is attempting a connection but finally fails. I changed the port on M1XEP to...

ELK M1 - Can't connect from Outside of LAN using M1toGo or Elk RP2

I need some help here as I can't see what is setup incorrectly.   I am unable to connect to the M1 from outside my local network. Inside my local I am able to connect using both Elk RP2 and M1toGo.   I have setup the M1XEP to use port 2601 for secure connection.   I have set the IP for M1XEP to...

    ELK M1 Intermittent False Alarm

RAL and upstatemike,   Thanks for all your input and suggestions and taking the time to offer me some possibilities for my problem.   Other than realigning one of the magnets, replacing the CR2032 battery, I haven't made any changes to the system.   I have not had any alarms in 5 days so I am...

    ELK M1 Intermittent False Alarm

BraveSirRobbin, Really appreciate all your time and effort. I will double check the wiring at the transformer and battery as you suggest.   All zones are set as "1=Normally Closed".   One last question: I have the resistors that I can install. What benefit might that provide to the system?
