I took a look at all the ideas, I'm probably going to push the idea to use python for the web-server but the group im with is aiming and doing some heavy research on C++ as the server.
We'll compare them and figure out how much time we have left :) Thanks for the info!
I am developing my own Wi-Fi and Home Automation and Security devices for my senior project, and I am having trouble finding some good resources in better ways to develop a server side for all the Wi-Fi communication, i was hoping i could get some advice on using C++ or C# for the development of...
I actually discontinued this project for a bit, i ran out of time doing this unfortunately. Sorry i couldn't notify anyone else earlier. I was about to use this http://www.silabs.com/products/interface/usbtouart/Pages/default.aspx (SiLabs) before i stopped my project.
The SDK has a alot of...
Just for a quick update, i go a hold of some of the datasheets, and i will start updating my project for anyone who is interested in it. Might need some help every now and then. (I ended up buying the SDK for z-wave just for the fun of it).
I'm going to start up drawing some schematics soon...
You might be out of luck, devices that are different frequencies will not work with eachother unfortunately. Once you have a network at a set frequency (EU, US, etc...) you are generally stuck with that z-wave regional frequency.
I recently bought a aeon labs door window sensor, and i want my z-wave network to send me text messages when the door opens or closes. I am a little lost with what devices i need to get in order for this to work. Please give me some device recommendations or software if i need! Thanks in advance!
Yeah i guess my way would be a bad way to find the problem as it might come back again :l... I guess its good for a last minute showdown for the frustrated =P.
What does the EZ-tap RS-232 Analyzer exactly do? seems like something that would be good to have just in case. Is it Z-wave Specific?
I don't know if this will help, but usually when i have problems with my network, i usually would do a full reset of my network. That solves most of my problems most of the time.
Hi Guys,
I have been lurking around for awhile and i just wanted to say thanks and hello for solving some of my own home automation disasters with z-wave stuff, its quite a pain learning everything from the bottom up. I have been thinking of a few neat projects that i want to do with the mbed...
I was trying to google some information on using my mbed as a z-wave controller, but i couldn't find any good information on this. I looked into OpenZWave API a little bit, and was thinking of purchasing the SDK somewhere down the line, but before i do that i want to consider the cheapest...
