Omnipro II fried...move to Elk M1 Gold? What will work?

Don't forget that if you used EOL resistors when you installed the Omni, they will have to be replaced if you go with Elk.  It's been MANY years, but IIRC, the Omni uses 1K, while the Elk uses 2.2K.

    Zwave beaming?

That statement is incorrect.  Leviton started switching over to beaming compatible units early last year. IIRC the blue boxes are the older units, the green boxes are the newer ones.  There is also a way to determine it based on the stock number.  I know I posted it somewhere, but not sure if it...

    Minimum Acceptable Gauge Wire

I wouldn't be concerned about replacing all the old wire...with one MAJOR exception.   Get those smokes wired to code using Fire-wire.  ASAP.  It just might save your life.     NFPA put the requirement in after finding cases where a fire in the ceiling disabled the smoke detectors before they...

    paralysis by analysis

I'm no longer in the industry, but from what I'm hearing, most of the pro installations are going UPB, or something proprietary, i.e. Lutron.  If it doesn't work flawlessly right out of the box, the pros aren't going to use it.  I recently upgraded my 15 year old X10 installation to z-wave, and...

Heat sensors on 17A00 Expansion Enclosure

Late to the party, but I've had heat detectors wired to expansion enclosures in both the attic and the garage for many years without a problem.

Any Homeseer 3 - HAI users out there?

Just to let you know I haven't given up or disappeared.  I got transferred to a new location, so now I'm doing a 130 mile round trip each day.  Combine that with some travel, a 10 day bout with the flu, the start of a class, and it's not been a great month. The good news is the new HS machine is...

    suppliers of keystone jacks?

Word of warning, don't mix-and-match stuff, at least withing a location.  Leviton white is not the same as Legrand white is not the same as Coopers, etc.  Per my specifications, my builder used all Leviton stuff, but they substituted Cooper GFIs.  I ended up having to replace most of them...

    Setup Z-Wave network with VRC0P

You might need to use the Leviton Vizia Installer Tool and a Leviton USB stick to program the VRCOP.  Everything I've seen has the programming done on that combo, and then the primary controller designation transferred to another controller, i.e. the Z-stick.

Most cost efficient way to upgrade to zwave light switches

I'll add that you WILL have to swap out every switch, but you won't have to pay for a full z-wave switch for every location.  Just 12 Z-wave switches, and 16 remotes (if I counted right.  It's late and I'm half asleep)

Most cost efficient way to upgrade to zwave light switches

Each light/group of lights that is controlled requires a single z-wave switch.  The others are remotes and don't carry a load, i.e. a 2-way will require one z-wave switch, and one remote, a 3-way will be one load and 2 remotes, etc.  Note that the wiring between the load and the remotes may be...

HAI controller with Vizia RF switches

Did your customer do the original install himself, or did a vendor do it?  You're going to need four things.  First, the master controller for the Z-wave system, so you can enroll the new switch into the Z-wave network.  Second, the Leviton USB stick (which may or may not be the master...

    Connecting HAI to Vizia RF

You don't have to poll the Vizia switches from the HAI.  Leviton/HAI made that part is automatic.  However, did you use the RF Installer tool to associate the switches to the VRCOP?  You won't get the status updates unless you do. it's associate to RS232 device or something along those lines.

    VRCOP +3 Firmware

If you haven't already, you mght try posting the question down in the HAI/Levition forum.  They occasionally monitor it.
