    Selling my OPII

All,   I am moving and will be selling my HAI OmniPro II System and its peripherals. I thought the folks on this forum might be most interested. The unit is the non-flashable 3 port serial version. The unit has no issues and has served me well. I also have a bunch of UPB dimmers and lamp...

    Samsung SmartThings Integration

Has anyone been able to modify the code to allow arming/disarming through SmartThings?

    Wired contact failure

Finally got this fixed...bad solder joint in one of the window contacts. PITA to repair but fixed. Thanks to all for the suggestions. BTW, I opted against going to the GC because they installed a Honeywell system that I ripped out and replaced with the OPII. I assumed they would want nothing to...

    Wired contact failure

The house is only about 3 months old. The contact is on a window that has probably been opened twice. I'm really hoping it's not a short in the wall somewhere from a nail or screw--if that were the case though, I don't think I'd be getting values in the 160-200 range. DEL, I assume you are...

    Wired contact failure

I've got a wired contact that is randomly failing. I get numerous trouble signals for a few hours about once or twice a month. It's also caused an alarm while we were asleep--that was fun. In PC Access the value fluctuates between 160-200 when it is giving a trouble signal (no resistors...

    Samsung SmartThings Integration

Is there a way to re-run zone discovery after it's installed? I've made some zone changes and need to update smartthings to match. Thanks.

Need help with 4-wire smoke wiring

Ok. Based on the age (and DEL's recommendation) I am just going to replace them all with 2WTA-B's. With an auxiliary power source and the RRS-MOD, it looks like I can avoid the relay mess and significantly reduce the complexity of the wiring.

Need help with 4-wire smoke wiring

Thanks all. Any reason why I can't use a standard 12v relay rather than spend $80 on a 4204?

Need help with 4-wire smoke wiring

Appreciate the responses. I thought these detectors might have a 10 year shelf life but didn't see anything in the materials indicating the need to replace. I will do that. I've got 9, so yes, it's too much for T17, so I believe I will need to use a relay in front of the reversing relay. I was...

Need help with 4-wire smoke wiring

I am working on fixing a 4-wire smoke system that a previously installer screwed up when he installed a new panel at my parent's home. I have a Vista 20P panel, 449CST smokes and a 405-03 reversing relay (the last smoke also has an EOLR built in). The previous installer did not hook up the...

Anyone jumped ship from HAI yet?

Has anyone tried using the Leviton Wi-Fi switches?

Anyone jumped ship from HAI yet?

Picta, it sounds like you really have a HomeSeer system, not a HAI system. That said, using HAI as your primary controller requires so many extra add-ons to make it work with the newer modern equipment. All of these add-ons add extra points of failure. Hate on the cloud all you want but with the...

Anyone jumped ship from HAI yet?

Preach. I'm interested to hear how your search goes. PS I will likely have an OPII and a bunch of UPB switches for sale soon if anyone is interested...

Anyone jumped ship from HAI yet?

Yes, except none of those items can be easily added to a home after its built and its all old tech. Also most variable speed HVAC systems (including mine) require their proprietary t-stat.    This is exactly the problem I am trying to avoid--being forced into a very small ecosystem where you...
