Automation control of lights over 600ft

Failed to see "wooded area"   Another way for long range Ethernet is over Coax.  I have used these before to go over 1,000 ft with some old RG-6   http://www.nvt.com/content.php?type=product&key=ec1701&cid=root

Automation control of lights over 600ft

Long range wifi and a local controller would be the way I would go about this.    2 of these https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-0000070700985-NanoStation-loco-M5/dp/B004EHSV4W/   1 of these https://www.amazon.com/Vera-Control-VeraPlus-US-Controller-Wireless/dp/B01BX9P89Y/   Obviously the controller...

Very Cheap TED 1001 House Power Monitors (and possible hacking)

Great Project.  This would bypass my X10/noise issues I had with my TED.   Not a programmer myself, so no help there, but wanted to say this would be very useful.

ELK M1 Logging Engine / Web Dashboard

I have thermostats connected to my Elk. My main goal was temperature and status logging and graphing of HVAC equipment. Most building management software packages include this type of data.  Understanding HVAC runtimes versus temperatures, open doors/windows and other factors can help you...

ELK M1 Logging Engine / Web Dashboard

Sure wish this was a reality.  A nice, pre-made VM with a database and web interface to log, graph and analyze data from the Elk M1.  I tried to implement Threadhead's solution, but I am starting from scratch with perl and never really got it going.   lz

    Premise [download] Module: Logging

The above mentioned video on how to extend logging to other classes is not available.  I would like to log the status of the HVAC modes: heat/cool/auto, fan mode, heat and cool set points, etc.   Has anyone done this or can someone point me to a tutorial on how to do this.   Thanks, lz

Picture at driveway gate? (lots of constraints)

I do a little CCTV at work and was contacted by these guys.  The system is wireless, 3g and solar.  Not sure of price.  I have no affiliation.   http://safesite-remote.videofied.com/

    Premise Data Logging?

Does Premise offer device based data logging? I would like to be able to log by time interval (temperature/energy) or by a changed state (security sensors). Ideally, the logging data would end up in a database of some sort. Thanks, lz

    Whole House Power Monitoring Board

The board sounds like a great design and should give you what you need as far as measurement. I would suggest at least 4 CT inputs, this would allow for a standard 320A service with two 200A panels. Personally, I would like to see about 8 CT inputs. Then you could meter 2 panels and 4...

    OOOOUUUUCH!!!!!!

Last conference I went to, they had a Wii at one of the booths running Wii sports, a big screen and some of the sports accessories. That booth was never empty. Don't remember what it was selling, but it definitely drew the people in.

Opinions on radiant electric floor heating?

I have radiant heat my master bathroom. Two comments. Everyone in our family loves it. Kids lay on it. Wife drys laundry on it. Water from the shower/bath evaporates, so the floor is not slippery as long. Also, when our floor heat is on, the temperature in our master bedroom seems to be...

Newbie Question: What's up with SmartHome prices?

That is exactly why I stopped purchasing Insteon. In my view, they no longer have any cost or technical advantages.
