    Smoke/CO detectors

Could be. Most areas in US require 110v interconnected smoke detectors. If they were inspected when they were put in, you could run into code trouble.

UPB - Adding Fan Control with missing wire

Did you test the wire to see where the power is initiated, the light or the switch? Where is the neutral? Doesn't the UPB switch need a neutral to operate?

No From Address on Emails From Elk

I have finally gotten my Elk email to work, but when I receive messages, there is no from address. In the M1XEP setup I confirmed I do have the from email address in there. Also is there anyway to change the Subject, or is it always the standard "email alert"? Thanks

    M1XEP not found

    Elk and wireless doorbell

Is there a button that would work with the caddex system that could be mounted for a doorbell? This way whenever the button was pushed, I could have the elk announce it? I know it can be done through a wired system, but is there just a wireless button?

    Mounting wood studs into concrete

I usually glue and use hilti gun. Also watch the type of nails you use when fastening to pressure treated wood. Make sure they are approved for pressure treated lumber. I have seen nails corrode in months.

I am a contractor specializing in basement remodels, which entails a lot of fastening to concrete. What were you trying to fasten to concrete? Bottom plates, wall studs, ect??

    CQC is not cheap!

A 2x4 header is pretty small. But aside from that, how would you ever run a piper through a header???? A header runs above doors and windows, so you couldn't run run vertically through it because you pipe would run through the door or window, and Horizontally would mean the the pipe would be...

    Elo 15" 1537L Touchscreen in-wall installation

Looks great, but could you have picked a worse spot? Right by the vent and electric lines. From the pictures, it looks like the power is running to the cabinet behind that wall.

Your thoughts: Elk M1 or HAI Omni Pro II

I agree, as a DIY I felt the support for the M1 was better. I also use CQC so I not totally relient on the hardware.
