    Product Ideas

Hi, honestly, my #1 would be just the existing soil moisture meter without the grounding problem, without having to add an isolation transformer. I'm quite confident I' have bought and sold dozens of these otherwise.. Michael

    LCD controller software examples

Hmm, just take the owfs-code and port it to something not portable ? Sorry.. Isn't it the sole purpose of Java to report only not-understandable error-messages ? ;) Sorry again, thats my opinion.. There's a pretty good working thing called owfs around, if someone has the intention to make it...

    Seeking Input

I'd also vote for (maybe jumperable) 0-2.5/0-5/0-10V, 4-20mA is also a common sensor output.. Quad, mabe close to the HVAC-Monitor but more flexible.. As you asked :hesaid: wishlist: - A simple IO like the D2P with a DS2406, maybe with a little transistor to boost switchable load a little bit...

    Solar sensor with OWFS

While testing, I just noted that I already have a THS with the new Diode, not clipping anymore. So most likely not comparable with the ones this thread started.. Compared to my other weather station saying 99 kLux (which is the max there), I get readings from vis of approx 0.165 Anyway, I'd...

    Solar sensor with OWFS

Getting back on this topic Hobbyboards T/H/S with owfs: Has anybody already measured/compared at which light-level (Lux) the max value of .25v reading VIS is reached ? As far as I understood, if I get a negative reading it's saturated and the datalogger can assume 100% which would be fine for...

    moisture sensor giving me grief

Finally I put this between the board on the Watermark-sensors today and since then it works. Thanks Geoff! Eric, as I already had some people asking me for this moisture sensor (as it's a still a valuable solution, there are not that much affordable alternatives..): are there plans to modify...

    moisture sensor giving me grief

I finally ordered two isolation transformers for my mositure sensors today, hopefully I can fix it also, will let you know.. Michael

    moisture sensor giving me grief

@Geoff: Sounds good! Can you give an electrical noob a hint what you put in there like Part# so I can dig for something comparable ? Michael

    moisture sensor giving me grief

What I found out so far: it only happens when the digged sensors gets wet. As soon as soil gets dryer, I get resonable readings. Any hints still appreciated but I fear theres some problem related to grounding it, as soon as I put it into an (isolated) bucket with water readings are fine.. Michael

    moisture sensor giving me grief

Sorry no ideas but after digging my Watermark-Sensors I have the same problem. As long as in air/water-bucket everything is fine, when burried readings vary heavily between min and about 50% ? Michael

    Moisture Meter Background

Hi, being quite new with these I got 2 moisture meter boards and Watermark-sensors recently. Things work so far but I have noticed that the moisture (current) reading varies heavily with the soil temperature.. Without trying around another few days, I wondered wether there's any...
