Elk M1G and Z-wave - how (current availability)?

Used Homeseer HS4 and can confirm it works well with both the Elk M1G (you use an HS3 plugin) that Mark mentioned is no longer supported. I'd last year moved to Home Assistant using a Home Assistant Yellow PoE with the Zooz 800 series ZAC 93LR Pi module (about $18.00 addition) to the Home...

    I'd also second that suggestion.

What are my options for Keypads for an Elk M1?

Elk Products does not have the E27 available for the DIY market and has repeatedly stated it's not a replacement for the M1 series. Yes, it's confusing. If you are having the system installed by a Elk Products professional, then the E27 is compelling. That licensed dealer is the only one...

Is ELKRP2 still the preferred method of managing the M1?

ELK RP2 (currently version 2.0.40), while dated, still functions quite well in Windows 11. Does install an old Crystal Reports 2008 portion during. the install. I suspect if at some point WIndows 12 or later doesn't support the Crystal Reports 2008 libraries, ELK Products would need to...

So there are no higher than 135 degree detectors on the approved M1 smoke detectors list?

I have a highly positive view of the System Sensor COSMO D2W. I don't have to worry about the zone used, as the panel sees it wired like a 4 wire smoke. I also have a zone for CO and a zone for Maintenance. The system sensor sensors communicate intelligently to the COSMO the status and...

What are my options for Keypads for an Elk M1?

The new 7 inch looks promising! Waiting to see what features/customizability is possible with it being essentially a touchpad with Elk Connect installed in it. Best part is that the same product is for both product lines, so keeps manufacturing costs lower than two separate SKU#s...

    Raspberry Pi questions

I'm entirely Home Assistant at this point. Home Assistant Yellow PoE with the Zooz ZAC93 LR GPIO module added to it (about $18.00) and it provides me full access to all my smart home kit. Integration with the Elk M1G and a mix of Zigbee and Z-Wave hardware. Used to be HomeSeer, but I've...

    Is Charmed Quark gone?

Did some looking as I use Home Assistant now as well. Networx - https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/nx584/ W800RF32 - https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/w800rf32/ Any details on the USB-UIRT? Hopefully the two integrations I found helped. There are currently over 2000...

Advice in Designing new Elk System

Not sure what Elk Product's parts availability concern might be. Perhaps purchased the processor rights? Brand new E27 dealer training video dropped this week and several minutes are spent to explain it is not a replacement for the M1G and the M1G is still their premiere panel. Also seems...

    New Elk Panel

New dealer training video has been dropped for the E27 from Elk Products. Best part is the strong emphasis that the E27 is not a replacement for their Elk M1G and that the M1G is still their "Premium Platform" around the 1:30 mark or so. For those interested in the E27 as a new install, this...

    Is Charmed Quark gone?

Well, Dean Roddey open sourced his system. Doesn't look like really any activity occured after that point. https://github.com/DeanRoddey/CQC But as you, I cannot access any of the prior commercial websites for CQC, I suspect that alas it's dead in terms of development. What's telling is...

    New Elk Panel

Was interesting to see the CEDIA expo video, A large deisplay of Elk M1 Gold systems and the new 7" LCD keypad expected to ship in January (want it now, so it's a long wait for me). Looks like plenty of legs left for the M1 platform.

    New Elk Panel

I am also looking forward to the 7" keypad. The fact that it works on both seems to indicate that it's really only some firmware differences between the modules for the E27 vs M1G as both still use the RS-485 bus.
