    OmniPro II and face recognition

Hi Chief,   From my experience, I suggest using a network video camera which does face detection and a software based video analytics security system. The technology does not come cheap, but it is very accurate.   You can then interface the camera's alarm to the security system. .

OmniTouchPro on Raspberry Pi and Windows 10

Is the Leviton Omni designer the same as the HAI Automation studio?   I use the HAI Automation studio to redesign my omnitouch 5.7, if that is what you mean by redesigning the screens. As far as the video goes, I have installed the Sony Ipela NVR server along with networked HD cameras. I you are...

OmniTouchPro on Raspberry Pi and Windows 10

Pete,   Do you still have the link for the OPT? If not, can you share a copy. I have the CE version and would like to try the PC version.    Also, what is the difference between the PC OPT and the 5,7e GUI/options?   Thanks

    Stop Omnipro from calling

From the manual   "DURESS EMERGENCY (SILENT DIAL OUT) If you wish to have a button in your home that activates a SILENT dial out, (no lights flashing and no sounder) it should be connected to a zone that is configured as a DURESS EMERGENCY. If this zone is accidentally tripped, you will not know...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Isn't this board for management only? Can't confirm just yet, but I do not believe is listed as an option in PCA other than selecting it for management purpose via serial. One interesting fact came to light after reading the 10A17-1 Instruction Sheet - Serial Interface (...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Thanks Pete.   I will order some of the  rs232 to R485 converters and test them on my controller. Will see if the controller recognizes the serial port.

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Pete,   Interesting thoughts and observations here!   Are you sure we are talking about the same touch panels? The three wire connection is the RS485. I have not seen the 3.5 panel or the old panels. Perhaps, the older 1st generation panels were connected via the three wires.   My omnitouch 5.7e...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Thanks Pete for the feedback!   Hmm! From what I have read, see and experienced, the Omni-link II protocol  is based on the tcp/ip protocol (for addressing) up to to the application level. At the application level, the messages communicated between the controller and other devices (i.e. touch...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Pete,   Can you expand on this statement and what are your thoughts?  Why does one need two HS3 boxes to accomplish my tasks?

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Thanks Pete for the info. I'm a bit confused. You were referring to the Pro-Link protocol as the communication protocol between the omnitouch panels, noticing that these are ip based. What is the Pro-link serial protocol doing, in relation to the touch panels? Is  the panel using serial over ip...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

"Can you share a bit of info on the control devices (i.e. touch panels & HIFI volume remote controllers etc) interaction between the controllers via the Pro-Link protocol. Will these be specific and unique to the controller attached to them, or there is some shared control interaction between...

Lumina Pro and OP2 connected together in one system

Thank you for the feedback, Pete and Jon! lots to chew on, before deciding on anything. I am into the electronics field, and like to explore some other options, such as populating the other two serial ports on the old OP2, and/or trying to play with the Lumina Pro by upgrading the software to...
