anyone tried the new t2 command?

Thanks for the response Spanky Sorry but I was unable to try until today cuz I was out of town. I updated the main board to 5.1.14 and reset the m1xsp to 70.0.2 I still could not get a response from the M1, or the thermostat, but I have noticed some additional behaviors If I query the...

anyone tried the new t2 command?

123 Thanks for the encouragement, and suggestions I tried the command directly to the stat (an RC90) using realterm , and it worked just fine. The thermostat showed outside temperature of -20.5C and alternated between inside and outside temperatures about every 2 seconds. I received an...

anyone tried the new t2 command?

You are right that the temperature setting was not correct. 27 hex = 39 Dec omni temp units = -20.5 C I have tried several variations of other commands, and I cannot seem to get anything to happen. The Elk just quietly swallows the commands, and nothing at all happens. No responses. <sound of...

anyone tried the new t2 command?

Just tried it with bit 7 set like the elk manual said same result... nothing maybe the checksum isnt the right kind. Manual just says to add the bytes. Even an error would be useful. considering disconnecting it from the elk so i can talk to it directly.

anyone tried the new t2 command?

the Elk protocol manual is available for download from elkproducts.com. The most recent version I saw was from Nov 2008. Site will have the latest version. The HAI protocol manual is available from www.homeauto.com. it used to be available directly for download. Now it seems you need to...

    ELK M1 Showcase House

Could actually start a new trend! The hardest decisions to make are the ones you have to live with forever, like what wiring to place into what walls. If the walls stay open, you can always replace with the latest and greatest technology as it becomes available! I always found I didnt put...

Cheap, simple garage door open/close sensors...

I just read BSR's writeup on the "ultimate" setup, and now I must MUST have this in my own garage! Just curious though... Instead of using an AD converter, could the M1 be used to supply power, and measure return voltage on one of the zone inputs? I believe this is how their temperature sensors...

anyone tried the new t2 command?

have been waiting a while for the new firmware upgrade, specifically to make use of the HAI thermostat support. Tonite I was experimenting with the new version, using the latest M1 protocol document. So far I have been unable to get anything to succeed. For kicks, I sent the following text...

Prewired in '2000 - How bad did I screw up?

In my haste to get it done, I neglected to take pictures of work in progress. I will try to supply decent pictures of the finished work tonite. Epoxy alone would likely work, but for me it was more like "insurance". I don't tend to trust the long term bonding of any glue, particularly with...

Prewired in '2000 - How bad did I screw up?

I just finished with a few experiments over the weekend on the subject of lock status. I too have been looking for something that will provide a status for a deadbolt lock. The most obvious would be to use a reed sensor in the door jamb, but even the smallest flush mount sensors have relatively...

Elk M1 support multiple PLC types?

Hi There I am new to the forum, but have lurked here for some time. Has anyone attempted to use more than 1 lighting technology in the same M1 installation at the same time? Elk indicates that it supports a multitude of different technologies, but does not state explicitly that it can handle a...
