Take a look at CQC also. Radiora 2 and best are already supported. I think you'll need to write a driver for the garage door opener.

We use freewave radios in the oil field and they have been rock solid.

If memory serves there can only be one primary controller in a Zwave network. If both hubs act as secondary controllers it might work.
