I have two Email Notifiers, and they both are working well for me.
I think that you may have a defective product that should be returned for warranty replacement. The Notifier Installation sheet has the Leviton Warranty information on it. Good luck!
Leviton support has just issued this bulletin regarding problems with Gmail and Yahoo accounts that use SSLv3:

It recommends changing to another email provider, SMTP2GO.com to get around this problem.
I have two emailnotifier boards in different houses using gmail accounts. And they both quit working in the last two weeks or so just as JonW described above. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will help. The last message was sent 6/20.
Today I spoke to LSA (formerly HAI) tech support rep and learned the following about the EMail Notifier:
- MAC address of 00:04:A3:00:00:00 is the result of a bug in the firmware upgrade. A known problem, will be fixed in the next upgrade. This should have no effect unless you have two or more...
