Z-wave to PC. What is the simplest "good" option?

You could look into InControl Home Automation (http://www.incontrolzwave.com/). It requires the use of a USB stick. The Aeon Labs ZStick (Series 2) is a good one. Just so it's fair, I'm the creator of InControl, so I'm probably a little biased. :)

Kwikset door lock control using Z-Wave

In theory, you can use InControl (www.incontrolzwave.com) to do this. You could setup an event to watch the switch, then use it to activate the lock. I say "in theory" because InControl has support to fire events like this, but it doesn't yet support locks (lock support comes around July.)

IP or Telephone Garage Door Opener

I'm not really able to clarify much more. I've only been told that it's illegal and a search with z-wave and illegal shows others saying it too: http://forum.melloware.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7911 http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=91.5;wap2 I'm no authority and have no better...

IP or Telephone Garage Door Opener

Garage doors in the US are supposed 'illegal' to open using RF, which is why it's hard to find a pre-made product to handle it for you. There are solutions though as many have pointed out. I'm considering going this route personally: Evolve LFM-20 - this is a z-wave relay which you can...
