Thanks for the info - I'll check out the Dedicated Micro DVR stuff and will prob go analog but wire for IP and analog. Anyone got a good suggestion for sub $500 analog exterior cameras which mount to a single gang box in the eave? PTZ is not very important to me.

Did you get this resolved? I'm looking at installing a pretty large Z-wave system with Elk in a house I'm about to build and want to know if the status of z-wave devices is still an issue with ELK.
