Lowe's now entering into Home Automation

So far i have had good luck with the VERY cheap GE outlets (knock on wood). I had no problem linking them with the Honeywell Tux. Kind of sucks i paid 95 bucks for the Leviton zwave devices but they have never let me down so far. As far as the overall Iris system, I dont think this is a DIY...

Programming Vista 20P - first power on

4112800 is the correct code if the panel is factory default to get into programming. you can do this at anytime to enter programming. it should say intaller code 20 after that and then * or # plus your feild (*56) to enter prgramming.

Programming Vista 20P - first power on

Zone 1 is factory setup for smoke. did you install a resistor on zone 1? also, while the panel is powered up, try 4112+800 to get into programming. from there you can turn of zone 1 or change it to HW if you want. I think you need to assign the keypad as number 16 and I think that already...

Connecting the 4219 to Vista 20p

dang it, would have been cleaner without the EOL, but i works now so i am not changing anything.

Connecting the 4219 to Vista 20p

will these setting be the same, 03 01 00 10 0 03 01 02 10? the first will have EOL and the other will be NC, but the are treated the same on the panel? If i am correct, the ELOR is just for finding/checking faults inline. but i do know for sure that the 4219 do need EOL so the panel knows...

Connecting the 4219 to Vista 20p

if you are going to set your zones up as burg, you will need EOL installed. on the 20p, HW with contact need a 2k and the 4219 needs 1k (green resistors in the box). you can volt the zones and should see 4.9-5.0V for HW on the 20P and 2.5 on the 4219.

Connecting the 4219 to Vista 20p

You will also need to change zone 1 on the 20P from fire to EOL, otherwise its only 7 zones plus the 4219. Also. i think you can zone double the 20P, i know you can on the 21ip and they are the same board.

    Total Connect

well after searching the web last night i found that you need to do a hard reset on the camera by pressing the VERY small pinhole. now it works correctly.

ok, i cant have this much bad juju. so i get home and try to make changes to the cameras on the tux after the firmware, and it still says bad user/password when i log in or out and save changes! what the crap!

    Total Connect

Ok, so my cameras were added to my TC account today and once they showed up they had a "upgrade firmware" blinking at me. coming from the commercial side of cameras, ONSSI and milestone with servers and big dollar cameras, this is a nice setup so far. 100 meg of storage, alarm e-mails, masking...

    Total Connect

you have to do it from the alarm net side, correct? cause on the end user side they dont have any thing about cameras firmware.

Thinking of moving to Z Wave from insteon.

thats good to know, i will see if mine has that. i did get it to work after all, i added another wall dimmer near. i think i will try to remove one or both of the wall warts and see how it works then. the wall diimer/switchs seem to better RF coverage since they are up high. or maybe the new...
