ELK M1 Rules for Power issues

Hello, I'm wanting to create a couple (maybe a few) rules in the ELK to email/txt me when I have AC and DC power issues.  Can someone help me understand the difference between the "troubles" in the attached image?   Thank you, Scott

Sensor on a chain link fence gate

I think I will give the 5816OD a try. After looking at the install manual it has provisions for zip ties which I think would be preferable in my situation. The distance would definitely be within range. Its probably less than 30 feet as the crow flies from the wireless module. Thanks for all...

Sensor on a chain link fence gate

IanBrown, Yeah that is what I was thinking, but I wasnt sure if there were some specific sensors for my application. All the outdoor rated sensors Ive seen are square in shape and I wasnt sure how that would look on a round pole. I probably wouldnt even be doing this but we have a new puppy...

Sensor on a chain link fence gate

Has anyone ever installed a sensor on a chain link fence gate to know if it is open or not? If so, how did you do it? I have an elk with the Honeywell wireless receiver so a wireless solution would be ideal, but Im open to suggestions! Thank you

Wiring a switch to Elk M1 input

Hello Upstatemike, Would I also wire the switch in a NO state as well? I'm a little confused if the Elk should be defined the same as the switch or opposite of the switch.   Thanks for you help,   Scott

Wiring a switch to Elk M1 input

Hey Mike, Sorry I should have been more specific. I have a push button switch that can be wired either NO or NC.  I am going to automate my irrigation and my plan is to use the switch as a manual means to turn off the automation and turn control back over the current irrigation controller.   Thanks

Wiring a switch to Elk M1 input

Hello All,   When adding a switch to an Elk M1 input, how do I define the input? Do I set the input as a "Zone Definition 30 - Keyswitch On/Off?"  Do I set the "Operating Description" to NC or NO? I can wire the switch as NC or NO so I guess I'm looking for the proper combination between the...

Automate Irrigation and Maintain Current Controller

Hello Thank you all for the advise!  After I thought about this some more I did realize I was over thinking this a little.  Anyway, I've got all the components I need, but I have a question regarding setting up the switch as an input.  Do I set the input as a "Zone Definition 30 - Keyswitch...

Automate Irrigation and Maintain Current Controller

Hello BraveSirRobin, The system has 7 zones currently with an 8 zone controller. Adding the switch is definitely just for maintenance purposes. Typical maintenance would be all the things you mentioned as well as winterization and turning the system back on in the spring. I just thought it...

Automate Irrigation and Maintain Current Controller

Hello All, The short story is I would like to automate my irrigation system using my Elk M1, but I'd like the ability to flip a switch that would revert control back to the current controller.  I know this can be done, but I want to make sure I am not over, or under, thinking this.    My initial...

    ELK M1G Output 7-16 Wiring

RAL, Would I use a power source such as my Aux supply as the power to activate the high current relay? Use a 912 to switch the power from my aux supply which in turn activates the load relay? If this is the case I dont really need a schematic.
