Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

I actually don't feed power down the 100' wire. I have a local DC PSU in the shed that feeds the power to just that sensor in the shed. You can monitor the voltage using the built-in A/D, and it's always solid, never varying. I just think that there may be spurious glitches that are picked up on...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Well, I guess I should put closure to this, even though this problem seems specific to me ;) So, after almost 2 days running with the DS2438A chip, the problem appears to have been solved. During that time, I've had 5 voltage sags, probably caused by electrical glitches on the long run, but in...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Hard to tell on the reading error part. But I was reading the DS2438 data sheet, and noticed that there is a A version that doesn't support the 'sleep' mode. I happened to have some samples of those, so I replaced the DS2438 in that sensor. I looked for a bit with the OneWireViewer, and didn't...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Well, I've been monitoring that sensor using OneWireViewer for about 16 hours straight so far, and no lock ups so far. HOWEVER, I've noticed several times where the Channel 0 voltage has sagged to match the Channel 1 voltage. So, for example, if Channel 1 (which is the humidity voltage) is at...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

No buck to pass at all. I appreciate your trying to help, even though it's nothing to do with your boards. It's hard to imagine how the s/w could read/write the chip in any way that could cause it to lock up with a low voltage reading. I'm inclined to believe it's more an environmental thing...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

There doesn't seem to be a graphing option for the VDD (or any of the A/D) voltage. I did watch it for a while today, and I did notice an occasional deviation from 5V, but it always went back to 5V on the next poll. However, just 5 minutes ago, I happen to take a look at the Wserver status...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Ok, I found the viewer at maxim, and channel 0 seems to be the VDD voltage, so it looks like the same information that Arne's program provides in the sensor dialog. It reads the same, i.e. 5.00 to 5.01V.

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Don't have the program, but I'll go looking for it. Does it just read all the data from the DS2438? Arne's program kinda has a mode to do that too, in direct web mode. Here's a current reading from the humidity sensor: HUMIDITY: Humidity - Outside Humidity 47.2 % High humidity 58.4 % Low...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

That's my thought too. However, I can't figure out why the DS2438 is seeing this volt drop. The thing is, I have two humidity sensors, one home made, and 1 Hobby-Boards. One is in the basement, about 50' from the hub, and the other is outside, 100' away. The basement one is fine, but the one...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Yes, the humidity sensor is before the wind/rain instrument. The jumper is installed, and I am feeding the regulator about 10V DC from a transformer based PSU (not switched PSU). As a note, I never get any errors reading from the humidity or wind/rain instrument at any other time. Somehow...

Humidity sensors locking up Henriksen software

Hi, I'm running the Henriksen 1-wire weather station (wx.sandbox.org) and am experiencing problems with a humidity sensor. This sensor is daisy chained with the Dallas wind/rain/direction gauge, and they are all about 100' from the hub. I've noticed quite a few times that the weather s/w will...
