    Sense home energy monitor

Thanks for sharing, good info. I would hope that the technology had improved considerably with machine learning and cloud being the norm these days. I'm surprised about their business model though: one time hardware cost and no ongoing subscription fees? In this day and age with almost...

Amazon Echo control UPB lighting - Have Elk M1

Just read your post again - does the ELK have an API? I have an OmniPro and there's a C library that I can use on Linux for this sort of thing.

Amazon Echo control UPB lighting - Have Elk M1

Do you have an IP gateway to front end the UPB devices? If so, then it should be possible to do this for way less than $600. I'm controlling my home theater through a global cache gc100 with a custom skill in Alexa. The way it works is Alexa interprets voice commands and makes a call to a home...

    AWS launches IoT platform

I know cloud connected is not very popular around here but this is pretty significant news considering AWS' dominance in the cloud space: http://techcrunch.com/2015/10/08/amazon-announces-aws-iot-a-platform-for-building-managing-and-analyzing-the-internet-of-things/

HAI "Audit Trail" Command Line Interface for Unix.

I've been using Chuck Cannon's library on my FreeBSD box for a few years now. Although the code is pretty old, it works for what I use it for. Here's an example of what the output might look like:   % sudo /usr/local/bin/hai zones 50 : BreezewayDoor : 030, Secure, Latch Secure...

Wow, thanks Jim! This is great info. Why max of 20? Not that I think I would need more than that but just curious.

    Haiku Space Questions/Troubleshooting/etc

Have you tested them with Space? Do they work well? I would like to order some but wanted to hear if they work well.   Thanks.

    Haiku Space Questions/Troubleshooting/etc

I have space 1.03 and Omni firmware 3.14a. When trying to add a new rtsp camera, as soon as I finish adding and click on the preview, the app crashes. When I reopen app, the recently added camera is gone.

    Haiku Tips on using Space

Do you have release notes somewhere or a list of new features as compared to Haiku? Your website says "we're working on it". Also, any success stories of using iBeacons from certain vendors? I bought the app last night and looking to pull the trigger on some tags now.

Iotivity: open source framework for IoT

Just came across this: www.iotivity.org It looks like they just released the preview for Linux after CES. It's a framework for devices to communicate with each other via agreed upon APIs, they list support for BT/BLE/WiFi/Zwave among others. Still very early to judge whether this will go...

HAI Email Board changing MAC address

I just learned that my last firmware update to the Email board (version 1.3 I think) changed the "burned in" MAC address on the LAN port. How do I know this? I have static DHCP reservations for every endpoint on the network and strict firewall rules permitting Internet access only from certain...

Haiku Haiku 4.0 sneak peek and a few details...

Hi,   New UI looks nice but I'd like to hear more about new features. For example, I like the added support for iBeacons and can see some use cases for that.   Thanks!
