I don't have the sensors yet. Sounds like I need to re-think this part.
Can you recommend a sensor that, rather than integrating directly to a thermostat, will connect a component that will allow me to query that component to read temperature? I think that component could be an Arduino or...
I have a bunch of wired sensors in my house that are currently not connected to anything. The sensors are temperature sensors and motion sensors. I want to write my own software that will read motion sensor status and toggle lighting scenes for my RadioRa system. Similarly my software will read...
The Leviton system seems to be getting toward what I was looking for. So I put the sensor

in the walls and connect it via cat5 (overkill, I know) back to the thermostat

I've never seen a thermostat that wasn't ugly. I'm paying extra for a centralized RadioRa system to get all those switches off the wall. Then we're gonna turn around and stick this big ol thermostat on the wall... doesn't make much sense. Got any examples of non-ugly thermostats? The builder...
No, I'm not confident in his work. I lack the skills to judge an HVAC system. I know we have multiple zones on each system, but only 1 return upstairs and 1 return downstairs. What should I be looking for to judge?
1) I'm concerned that if I have 5 zones, my builder will put 5 ugly thermostat boxes on the wall. I'm guessing there is a way to avoid this using remote temperature sensors.
2) If possible, I would like to integrate my HVAC into an automation system. So far I'm planning on RadioRa2 and Elk...
I was thinking more along the lines of whether we can have fewer than one thermostat per zone. Are there multi-zone thermostats? Possibly using remote temperature sensors?
Anyone have experience with Lutron temperature control? Does it integrate into the RadioRa2 software?
The home is a remodel that went down to the studs. The plan was to keep the ductwork and furnace for the ground floor in place. I'm not prepared to change that much of the HVAC system at this late stage, but there is still time to tweak the control system.
I want to pre-wire in an intelligent way that allows for taking advantage of whatever features exist today and are likely to appear soon. I don't know what most of those features are, so I am looking for input. 2 features I want are 1) the ability to control the thermostat via software, like...
I'm starting electrical in my build and will tackle low voltage next. What should I consider for HVAC automation? I don't know much about the subject yet. I think I've read about systems that have multiple temperature sensors that communicate back to a central location. What kind of wiring goes...
Hi, I'm comparing lighting systems and I'm trying to work out some questions. Any input is greatly appreciate!
1) Does anyone know what would happen if I bought RadioRa dimmers and installed them without a repeater or any other control mechanism? Would they still function as dimmers until I got...
