What is wrong with ELK Products inc.?

Our company recently developed a software product. It is mind blowing how expensive it is to produce a quality product. To imply that Elk is ignoring a legitimate source of revenue by failing to develop an application for Macs, seems like misplaced disappointment on your part. You may want an...

    Ripping BluRay's

AnyDVD HD is great for grabbing the source files unaltered, either an image or file structure. This will keep all the extras, menu structure etc. I use MakeMKV to just get the movie with the audio track into one file. This allows me to remove previews, subtitles etc. MakeMKV also removes...

Can you recommend...camera system in a box...

I recently returned my Ubiquiti Air Cam that I had in for testing.....as it is hardly what I would call "outdoor" ready. The documentation clearly states not to have the camera aimed down too much and looking at the back I see why. I would only use the Ubiquiti in a well protected area...

123, I was thinking the same thing... we all have the WAF that we are keenly aware of and have to take into consideration. :)

Issues with playing ripped blue rays from hard drive

Then I would say the hard drive is the most likely culprit at this point. More ram isn't going to help you. You already have 4g on a 32 bit OS which is the max (Really only around 3.25ish). Run the hard drives manufacturers diag utility and see what is up. Maybe you just have a bad sector...

Issues with playing ripped blue rays from hard drive

The ram is a little light for a vista box that is now asked to pump out a 25 gig video file. Is the box running Vista 64bit? If so buy more ram as It is dirt cheap. Check the hard drive. You also mentioned VNC player... I assume that was a typo and you meant VLC. What version are you...

Issues with playing ripped blue rays from hard drive

I go with .mkv for a container format. I make uncomressed full rips with http://makemkv.com . Give it a try. It also removes encrytipon so Anydvd isnt needed.

Are they straight rips (.mts files) or you encoding (mkv)? What program/codecs are you using for playback?

    HDMI over Fiber Optic

What I have found out through this adventure is that the HDMI extenders are very random as to which device they will work with.....meaning it would work for a Samsung Blue-ray player but not with the AVR or HTPC. A different model would work with the AVR but not the other devices. Finding a...

    HDMI over Fiber Optic

@tadr - I have not even heard of it. Looks promising thanks for the heads up. You have any experience with any products/information you would recommend? @Frunple - The home owner wanted something quick and fiber termination is quite spendy here in NW Montana it seemed the be the better option.

    HDMI over Fiber Optic

After trying over half a dozen different HDMI over CAT5 or CAT6 solutions with unacceptable results I was able to purchase and install this cable. http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dcable.jsp?prod_id=5740 I can report it works flawlessly (as one would expect for a $1k plus cable). Also a side note...

Run HD signal over Cat 5

I have tried a couple of the extenders with bad results and have basically given up. Has anyone used HDMI over fiber optics... like these from Gefen? I have a 140ft run in need of HDMI and these would be worth if they work.

    Network Backups?

+1 SyncBackPro. SFTP is also what sent me its way and have never needed to look elsewhere.
