ISY-994 Turns lights on but NOT off

Thank you for the comments! I combined the programs but I think noise might be my issue. Any good way to determine noise on my lines?

ISY-994 Turns lights on but NOT off

Anyone have a clue why this is happening? I have some floodlights connected to an insteon switch that turns on and off perfectly from the ISY Admin, Portal, and Mobilinc. I also have a program that turns the lights on 30 min prior to sunset and another program that is supposed to turn them off...

Ring Doorbell sense motion or ring ISY

I have the Ring Doorbell Pro and it is great, but I was curious if anyone has figured out a way to perform any tasks after someone rings the doorbell or it senses motion. Specifically I have an ISY 994 and I would like to perform tasks when someone rings the doorbell or motion is sensed. Anyone...

M1TWA - listen to Microphones over Internet

I am installing the M1TWA and have speakers with microphones. Is the only way to access the microphones to dial into the system? I am planning on using the M1XEP to control  and connect to Central station over Ethernet and won't have a phone line connected to the system.   Am I missing the point...

New Home Security and Automation Design (Design the perfect system)

Thank you all for the comments and, DELInstallations, that is a very good point about the concern and lack of ability to change with addressible panels.   Sog, my current plan (although this could change as we aren't moving until 18 months from now) is to use Elk and the ISY994i.   Since I...

New Home Security and Automation Design (Design the perfect system)

OK. Let's say I ran home runs for all wires (or at least zones) what system combination would you use? HAI, Elk, ISY, DSC, Honeywell? Again, design the dream system.

New Home Security and Automation Design (Design the perfect system)

With the Elk, or wiring one non-addressable contact per zone ideas, doesn't this require multiple home-runs to complete? I was looking for contacts in series so that I would not have so many home runs. I believe this is what some of the the DSC and Honeywell systems do with the addressable contacts.

New Home Security and Automation Design (Design the perfect system)

The theory of the addressable contacts is that we want to be able to see what location is violated (Left Bedroom Door, Right Porch Door, Back Hall Smoke, Family Room Motion, etc)    I know that we could use wireless as they are more reliable and seem to be pretty secure today, but then we have...

New Home Security and Automation Design (Design the perfect system)

We are building a new home so we have the ability to do anything we want in regards to a security system, but we have a few wants/needs.   1. Addressable wired contacts (windows, doors, smokes, motions, etc) 2. Automation control with access to lights, garage, doorbell, doorlocks) 3. 4-8 IP...

Recessed Window sensor in Double Hung window with Weights

I have a 100 year old house with the original double hung windows with sash weights. Is it possible to install recessed sensors (like the ION Micra) in these windows without fouling up the sash weights?

Anyone heard of upcoming DSC system for summer 2014?

I was talking to a local installer and they heard a rumor of a DSC system coming out in May/June 2014 that is supposed to rival the Elk M1G. Has anyone else heard of this?

    CCTV Confusion. New System HELP

Pete, Your comparison of HD vs analogue is pretty significant, and perhaps, you have made me a believer.    How can I see your camera list? Also, what is the camera on the bottom of the two pictures as that would probably be all I need. Can you zoom into the frame with still a good amount of...

** Anybody using i1XEP to Connect with iPhone?

I too use ekeypad Pro and control both my ElkM1 and also my ISY-99i. I have my irrigation set up through my ISY, so with ekeypad I can run zones manually when testing the system etc. For the Elk, it works flawlessly and I love it. I can see zone status etc. (let me know if you want to know more...

    CCTV Confusion. New System HELP

Ok. All great comments. Here are my followup questions: First, I am truly just a geek homeowner looking to have some surveillance for my property and house. I really don't need to worry about too much detail and I certainly hope that I won't need to ever identify someone's face, as would more...
