Got my starlink antenna! :) (but still waiting for mount)...

Jim, I hope you receive the mount in two weeks or less, still waiting for ours 45 days and two monthly service charges since arrival of the antenna. Customer service through email is no help, only robotic responses. What speeds have you seen so far?

    2019 Glass Break Detect

I would go with the Honeywell FG-730. Most windows installed today are dual pane and a true break in will require the blunt force followed by the breaking glass frequency. Both are required for an alarm condition with this model. I have a ranch home that uses them in all rooms except the...

    RGB recessed gimbal lights?

I have had really good luck with the WestgateMfg line for our commercial buildings, mostly wall paks, parking lot floods and interior cans. They are starting to use drivers that give you 3000K through 5000K in the same fixture, the same is true with their interior line. CRI isnt the greatest...

Low Voltage underground conduit separation from 120V

While you have the trench open, drop an extra conduit, and maybe an irrigation/water pipe, very inexpensive.

    Help with Ext. Camera Placement

As far as your camera coverage is concerned I agree with drvnbysound, you should have an additional camera on the front porch. In this case I would mount it very low (50") thereby catching the face under the hoody. Your facade is brick, so it will not be very difficult to camouflage a camera...

    Sandra Bullock

I am sure most of us saw the news story about the nut job who broke into the celebritys home. Seven foot high chain link fence topped with three strands of barbed wire, alarm system and panic door to her bedroom, maybe more, I do not know. Thankfully all turned out well, she was able to hide...

    Elk door chime

I did use a retrofit hub so there is plenty of extra wire, at least 6 conductors in each box.  The SPF-12 would work great, but the aesthetics will not fly with the family.  The speaker needs to be hidden.

    Elk door chime

Work2Play - All of the keypads are the M1KP variety, what is nice about my retrofit is there is plenty of CL3 wire left at each of the four 2-gang keypad locations.  The old FBII required 10 conductors to drive the keypads, so I could install a very small speaker behind the keypad in the NM...

    Elk door chime

Thanks DELInstallations for your response. As a real newbie to Elk I may be asking a real obvious question but is there an Elk speaker that will fit inside the existing 2-gang boxes that I have used for the keypads? Will any other hardware be required? I appreciate your help.

    Elk door chime

Hello all, first post here, love the site.   My personal residence had an old reliable FBII-XL1219 alarm panel and over Christmas she rolled over.    Installed an Elk M1G, turned on the chime at the keypad and my wife hates it, I personally don't mind the chime, it was enabled on the old panel...

    Wired sensors tripping

I too had a Ghost zone on an upstairs bathroom window. I put the sensor on a different zone and after a few months the issue followed so this confirmed to me it was either a sensor or the wiring. Installed a new contact and hoped for success. The next month it falsed again, I tracked it down...
