15A UPB Plug in Module

I am looking for a plug in module that I can use to turn on my coffee machine. It has a 1400w element in the boiler and requires a 15A circuit. This will weigh heavily into the lighting technology that I choose as it is a must being that it takes my machine 30 minutes to warm up and I'd like to have it ready to go when I roll downstairs.

According to HAI's website, the HAI Part Number: 60A00-1 will work for a 15A circuit; however, it then states 1/2HP. If my math is right 1/2HP is only 373 watts which is far from being enough to power my espresso machine. http://www.homeauto.com/Products/hlc/HLCPr...ine.asp#60A00-1

Am I reading into this incorrectly? As far as I understood things, 15A at 120V = 1800 watts at a safe load of 80% of the circuit this leaves 1440watts of capability on the circuit. I would expect that any 15A appliance/lamp module be able to then deal with devices that can draw up to 1440 watts.

My question is can the 60A00 module SAFELY switch my coffee pot on?

The 60A00-1 will work fine in this application. A coffee pot is essentially a resistive load, which falls under the 15A general purpose rating of the 60A00-1. The motor rating is lower because it needs to accomodate start up current and other issues in motor circuits.

Excellent. I thought it was sort of a strange way of denoting the ratings as they didn't match. So basically anything that a 15A circuit can safely support it okay. ;)
