if you're running a server all day long, you should look into an 80plus power supply. they are 80% efficient down to 20% of their maximum wattage so this will be 80% efficient down to 76W loads. most supplies are about 60% efficient.
i recently built a d201gly2 system and bought a sparkle power 80 watt 80plus PS. with the stock PS that came w/ the case, it idled at 48 watts. with the new one, it idles at 35 watts. that's 27% less power - only 13 watts - but running 24x7 it will add up. and if you have a more power hungry system, the savings will be considerably larger.
