/archive/j/site/logos/z-wave.pngRemotec Technology, the company responsible for products such as the Z-URC Z-Wave IR remote product line, is working on an IR transceiver which can be controlled via Z-Wave. The transceiver will be named 'Z-Extender' and the official model # is BW8370US. It's pretty energy efficient too, consuming up to 100mA @ 5VDC. It is equipped with 5 headphone style jacks, and seems to support the standard IR emitter, while there is an onboard IR LED as well. The big question is if these are treated as individual zones. Not much information is available yet, and it looks like they will officially announce/release the Z-Extender sometime in June. I'll post an update once more information is available.
