This is pretty big news for the Z-Wave world. Mitsumi has just become the 1st company (besides Sigma of course) licensed to create its own Z-Wave chips and modules. While there are many manufacturers making Z-Wave switches/modules, they all rely on the same Sigma Designs Z-Wave chipset. This will allow Z-Wave to enter markets where it is required to have a 2nd source (such as large businesses and government) before being able to adopt the technology.
