cable/wire management

Does anyone have any cable management products that they absolutely love? Most of the stuff I find sucks in one way or another. I'm ordering Panduit for within my server cabinet, but I also need:

- Short sections of ladder rack or cable tray for up near the ceiling
- Decent cable management to run on a concrete wall (vertically and horizontally) near my structured wiring box

I'm bringing all of my inputs for my ELK into a 24 port patch panel (using cat6, and putting a service loop in the ceiling), and then doing short runs from there into the structured wiring box. Then I don't run the risk of snipping a cable too short and not having enough if I need to move it at some point. All I would need to do is cut a new patch cable, crimp an RJ-45 on one end (or both if it's an RS-485 bus cable), and I'll be good to go.

We have a lot of Chatsworth ladder rack at work, and I really love it. It is strong as he11 too...I can hang from one section that spans 12 feet, and it doesn't sag a bit.

As far of cable management, I am a big fan of slotted duct with covers. It is easy to shove lots of cables into, and can be covered up so you don't see any of the mess. It looks the most "finished" of all of the cable amangement out there.

I made my own cable trays out of wood. I'm just guessing they're probably cheaper than the Chatsworth stuff, though I wouldn't risk hanging from one. Paint 'em black, and they look great to me.

but then, my whole basement setup is on the cheap and pre-supposes it can be behind a door, hidden from the civilized world.
