Chumby for $50 on Woot

I tried the new HS ITouchHome with the 3.5" Infocast last night.

The screens created for the plugin get automatically resized for the 3.5" Infocast.

The buttons are too small to be practical in everyday use though; better for just status screens.

Works fine though much slower response times than the Infocast 8" device.

Historically I have not played with the 3.5".

Goofing around with it (SSH, this and that) last night noticed that its much slower than the 8" Infocast.

Could have sworn someone had indicated it had the same processor - Guess not.

It has a smaller processor.

Chumby 1(AKA Falconwing) and Infocast 3.5"
Freescale iMX233 ARM926EJ-S 454MHz
64MBRAM, 1GB SDCARD
320x240x16 TFT with touchscreen

Infocast 8" (AKA Silvermoon)
Marvell PXA168 ARM9 800MHz
128MBRAM, 2GB SDCARD
800x600x24 TFT display with touchscreen

I see a big difference with the Seagate Dockstar (1.2Ghz) just playing.

Marvell Sheeva 1.2Ghz
128MBRAM, 128M Memory

Relating to performance the Seagate Dockstar runs circles around the Infocast 8" device. The BB deal on the 3.5" was probably worth the $39. I still kind of see mine as a nice "clock radio" and its a bit more aesthetically pleasing in looks than the Chumby 1. I maybe would consider a Chumby 1 at say $30 but most likely would take it apart and utilize everything but the case for it.
