Clean up that wiring box

While the "after" is markedly improved, some of my biggest pet peeves exist in those pictures....

Security and structured components in the same enclosure. I'm a big believer that the security panel and components should be installed in a separate enclosure. Once they're in and commissioned, they're usually not accessed like other structured components and wiring (for MAC's etc).

Battery is undersized and a "builder spec" unit....4 aH at best for that amount of cabling....hope those are all contacts and a single keypad.

Cabling that is not managed within the enclosure and criss crosses over modules and other components. While they were somewhat limited by the terminated length from the other vendor, there's no reason why the components couldn't have been installed and managed in a better manner.

Yep, I hear ya.  I was immediately drawn to what looks like some pretty tight bends on that coax.  But the pictures aren't clear enough to be sure.

Another little detail, but I always caulk the edge between the can and drywall - little touch that makes it look a ton more finished - even though you probably won't see it when the door is closed.

Take a look at the profile from the distance shot. Looks OK based on the depth of the can.

Heh - I'm working on a takeover right now that fits in with those "before" pics...  Once I get everything traced and toned out, I can update with an "after".

Love that the cable co dropped in an amp and a bunch of cascaded splitters all dangling on the floor, and left the only working telephone in that closet.
