This Maxim ADC is no longer manufactured. Do you have a substitute that will work?
Maxim does not show any substitutes.

Someone in this forum saying they can still get this chip in eBay on certain IO board. However, we don't have any sources for it.
We planned WebControl32 for users with more I/O needs, WC32 has 8 analog input, and 16 TTL input, and 16 TTL output, 16VARs and 16 RAMs. It is in beta now.

Someone could program 100 chips and selling the extra to others who having need. I think it might have better stability than MAXIM DS2450.

That is true although supposedly maxim does not authorize the creation and sale 1-wire slaves.

"authorized" or not - they made a market for the device, then for (whatever) reason chose to discontinue it without a replacement, I think someone making a "plug-in alternative" is entirely within the bounds of fair and reasonable :)

Agreed - if someone made a small board, perhaps with some amplifiers on it for added flexability, and sold it as a product - it'd be great.
(Is there any real demand for this? I already made 4-channel amplifier boards, perhaps an ideal marriage?)

The reason I asked to make one with pic chip is that we might find a pic chip with even pin compatible with DS2450. Maxim sales manager told us any Maxim 1-wire sensor sales drop below 200K units a year, Maxim may discontinue the product. The pity part for DS2450 not having large sales qty is its noise level too high. If Maxim improves its noise level, it could have larger sales.

Even just 200K annual sales, that is big enough business for someone. Like az1324 said, Maxim does not authorize anyone making 1-wire slaves. However, there are a lot of 1-wire slave devices being made and sold out there, Maxim did not take any action to stop them.

With little additional cost, one could have four more analog channels, that is good addition to Ross' terminal board, I think.
