Premise Easy method for auto log on to autobrowser and iframe pages?

I'm looking for a program to manage passwords and I was wondering what everyone is using to manage passwords associated with the automation browser. My setup uses iframe tagging to point to an ip based camera's activex control (this asks for a username/password each time and there is no option to remember this information). I also see a log on box when I first go to the automation browser web address that asks me to type a password after selecting a user name. It'd be nice if I never had to see any log in screens when I access the automation browser and could log on directly to a given user account. Any ideas?

See the attached image. If set to "Internet", the user will not be required to supply a password when logging in from a PC whose IP address is on the Premise Server's subnet.

Thanks 123! I'll give this a try when I get home on Friday. Anything that will help with passwords for activex controls embeded using iframes? Sadly, there is no useful option like this for my linksys ip camera.

Thanks 123. Upon some investigation, I had two issues: on one touch screen I had it pointed to my ddns address so it would have always asked me for a username and password no matter what (your post helped me to realize this, many thanks!). On the other touch screen with a local address, I was asked only a password eachtime, but the prompt was through the automation browser instead of the username/password iexplorer popup. This was due to an incorrect setting of "promptwhenswitching" found under each user account. It appears by default this is checked, but must be unchecked if you don't want to type any passwords each time (see attached pic).

Out of curiosity, is it normal to lose the SYS connection (through the automation browser) once/day? I have a touch screen that loses it's connection to SYS. Upon the first tap, everything looks normal, then I get the automatic reconnect screen and it reconnects. Any ideas? I checked the wireless power saving setting on the touch screen and it appears to be disabled. To provide internet to the SYS server, I do use a wireless dlink bridge connected to a switch. I have all ip addresses permanently reserved in the routers DHCP table though so I would think the wireless connections should be constant.

Sounds like I'll have to start studying the system event logs this weekend after I leave several computers going all day/night :) I'm guessing this is the only way to approach an issue like mine. Good thing I have multiple machines to try out. I'm really hoping it's just a driver issue in the main touch screen; I kind of doubt the solution is that simple though. Thanks for helping me debug my password issue though and don't forget to have a great weekend!

I used to have problems all the time with a cheap Wireless Access Point (Linksys WAP54g) dropping connections, after changing to a business series model (Linksys WAP4410N) my problems went away. I think Premise is pretty solid and would agree your problem is most likely your network.

Thanks for the replies everyone :D I believe you both are right about it being a network issue (as I'm using 3 wireless networking devices: a bridge, router and laptop), but I have discovered a very stable work around.

As it turns out, I was able to replicate the connection loss issue by restarting the SYS service on the server. This caused one touchscreen to display the grayed out automation browser screen that says something like you have been disconnected from the SYS server, performing automatic reconnect and this touch screen did automatically reconnect in 5 seconds or so. However, the second touchscreen did not show the reconnect screen until I clicked within the automation browser's window. I believe this is due to an activex security setting. This lead me to play with the trusted sites settings. I changed several activex settings to be less secure (of course I only do this for trusted sites and had already added both the ddns address and the subnet address of the SYS server). Now if I restart the SYS service both laptops display a greyed out screen mementarily, but quickly connect.

UPDATE: So the touchscreens do reconnect after you restart SYS now. However, if you remove the network connection from SYS, then put it back, BOTH touch screens will not reconnect automatically until you try to access the automation browser. Considering both touchscreens act like this I suspect it's the wireless N network bridge connection with my router. That's aside from the nice surprise this morning when both screens had to reconnect. I've moved the router now and I'm getting 108 mbps to the bridge. Much better than the flakey 15-27 mbps I was getting before. I'm pretty close to returning the router and bridge to microcenter and going corded again though :)

I'm guessing this assumes that you set up a user account with no password. This is because if you have a user account with a password, you will be required to type it once for the session. If you leave the browser open in kiosk mode, you will never have to type it again even if you switch users (assuming authenticate is set to "internet") unless you close the browser.

I studied this some and found that you really need to have local accounts with no passwords + a remote account with a password if you never want to type a password locally. This is how I finally ended up setting everything.

I never did figure out how to deal with the Linksys activex control for the cameras. The camera does not have a similar authenticate feature and I wasn't able to hard code the password...
