Elk M1 cellular hookup question

I currently have my Elk M1 hooked up to my landline and is monitored but since it's the only thing that uses my landline I'm thinking about dropping the landline and using a Telular TG1 Express instead but I'm total newbie regarding this so I have a couple of questions. How do you set up the cellular module in regards to having a number applied to it? Are there special providers for this or is it just the same providers that do our regular cell phones?

Thanks guys

Take a look at this thread.

I am not familiar wtih a Telular TG1. HAI makes a unit called a C3 which is GSM based, so you just stick a GSM SIM card into it and it becomes the phone number assigned to that card. I have one, and it works perfectly. It is quite simple to setup. You attach the antenna, plug in the phone line from the Elk, plug in the power and you are done. It has built in battery back-up for power failure. It calls into your mintoring co. just the same as if it were a land line. No adjustments needed. If you plug a pots line into the C3 it will only activate if the pots line goes down. Obviously, if no pots line is plugged in, it goes straight to cellular.
