ELK M1 Voice/Alarm Questions

I am confused with Output 1 and Output 2. From what I understand, Output 2 is supervised and is intended as a siren only and mainly used as an external siren. Output 1 can be used as voice or siren. My question is, if I have a piezo siren, can it be hooked into Output 1, and if so, will it product just a siren, a siren and voice, or neither?

Output #1 is voice only - do not connect a piezo or siren to output #1 - only speakers

Output #2 is for siren - or voltage output if you're driving a self contained siren module.

Ok but Output 1 says Voice/Siren so I was confused. And I created a rule in RP that says when I arm the alarm to chirp outsite siren, I assume this is Output 2, and nothing happened.

Do you have output 2 set for voltage or siren output? If you are using a piezo siren, you need to set output 2 to voltage output. This is set in the Globals programming section.

It is set for voltage. THe alarm goes off fine as normal, but the rule won't fire the "outside siren" For exmaple, Whenever ARM STATE BECOMES ARMED THEN CHIRP OUTSIDE SIREN 1 TIME. Nothing happens.

David'

I have just tried the rule as follows

Whenever: Security/Alarms "Is Armed - Armed to any mode"
Then: "Chirp Outside Siren 1 Time"

The rule works as stated above

Hope this helps.
